  1. 2000 Yes, lots of foam. I'm thinking of collecting it all and making a pillow out of it. Trying to do my part to recycle. lol
  2. I've seen a lot of complaining about driveabily though. What does the manual car do it in?
  3. If you don't care about wet weather or life of the tire, Kumho XS is the best non R comp tire right now.
  4. Falken ze 912 in 255/40/17 rear and 225/45/17 front. They are inexpensive, very grippy and have good longevity.
  5. Though I did the exact opposite, I would get the S2000. It's a better track car. I have a Boxster because I love the sounds it makes and the way it looks. I have also always wanted a Red Porsche, but the S2000 is a better car for what you want to do. After 1 autocross and a track day in the Boxster, I bought another Subaru STI to use on the track and keep the Boxster for it's beautiful sounds.
  6. radar jammers are illegal, but as far as I remember they can't make light illegal. anyway, see my post earlier, free easy way to give you a little time to slow down when your laser detector goes off. with all the drl's on cars now you really won't even stand out.
  7. I plan on doing mine in that fashion as funds allow. I plan on ending up with a 2.9 high compression engine with 260-270hp, carbon fiber hood, trunk and fenders, light weight battery, all sound deadening removed but I'm leaving the carpet, GT3 console delete, GT3 seats, coilovers, headers, 2nd cat delete and undecided on exhaust. It's Guards Red so I plan on GT3 like "Boxster" down the sides and replica multi spokes. The only extra weight will be the rear cargo bin and speaker, but those can easily be removed.
  8. I'm looking to get my seats redone soon and would love to make them heated. I live in a pretty warm area, but it gets nippy sometimes with the top down in spring and fall.
  9. vf engineering has a new intercooled SC for the C4S that puts out 456hp. www.vf-engineering.com
  10. Just driving with your high beams and fogs on will give you enough time to slow down if your laser detector goes off. Driving with high beams and fogs on can also make you stick out. Best way to not get a ticket is not to speed. Next best is don't exceed 9mph over, next best is pick a rabbit (the fastest car on the road) and follow him about 1/4 -1/2 mile back.
  11. When I lived in NC I was able to keep my FL drivers license. As long as I paid the ticket, they ddin't show up on my driving record. If the lawer doesn't work out, ask Congress for a bail out.
  12. Long story short -- the problem turned out to be a sheared water pump shaft which allowed the engine to overheat causing the freeze plug in one of the cylinder heads to blow -- which caused the coolant to mix with the oil. So I didn't require the new liners. I did get the LnEngineering IMS upgrade. Replacing just about everything else that isn't nailed down, from bearings, to all timing chains, hoses, belts, AOS, seals, rings, clutch, brake pads, and battery. Everything stock except for brake pads. Will be putting it all back together starting next week. Mike What did it cost you in parts?
