  1. Thanks a lot for your reply! I bought the breakout box from this gentleman and I got the PDF of the KTS500 but nothing for the box itself.... I will start experiencing soon ;-) Winter is coming!!!
  2. Just received a breakout box with some leads to complete my set of 996 vintage tool 😉 I've been using a PST2 since 2008 with a lot of success. Especially for friends that are looking to buy a use 996 turbo or simple troubleshooting and keys reprogramming.... But I never used a breakout box before and it is difficult to found information about how to use this tool especially on Porsche. Would like to test the internal voltmeter/ohmeter (URI) of the Bosch KTS500....OBDII pinout, 16 ports on the breakout box ? 6 leads, + ground (black) red and blue wires etc....Is there, somewhere, printed info that I can get? Pins assignment would be nice!!! Thanks for your help, J.P.
  3. Did you tried to tighten this line, may be it is loose....But, unfortunately I had this problem also. I have found the flare on this line damaged. I had to replace the line... Was not expensive but was difficult to replace....Part# 996-314-288-05, $14.01...
  4. This is really good to know thanks for sharing this fix!!!!
  5. Looking at this picture of an engine on the bench it can be the slave....
  6. Agree with JFP but on the second picture seems to come from higher up but the slave is on the other side....
  7. You will found some info here: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/996-turbo-gt2/377709-what-part.html And if you look at the engine removal section of the repair manual page 1177 you will see the way to detach this line...
  8. Lower the engine about 4 inches and it is lot better!!! Floor jack under the engine block and 2 nuts 18mm on the rear engine mount...... Oups that is probably fix already, old post......
  9. Just realized you are the new member. Welcome to Renntech community!!! You got a heavily modified car, did you ever suspect the ECU reprogramming?
  10. This is what you don't want and it is related with camshaft housing grooves ;-( http://www.rennsportkc.com/996tt-top-end/
  11. Your doing all the troubleshooting that can be done. You are well aware of all the possible failures! I help a member in 2008 with almost the same issue P1325, we work hard on that one . Unfortunately he sold the car before a fix ;-( May be you can found some help here: https://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/24113-obd2-fault-code-p1325-inlet-camshaft-bank-2/#comment-127060

  13. The red insert has to be held in position while the line is pulled out. There are some tool called air conditioning and fuel line removing tool that can be purchase and really not expensive... Here's an exemple:
  14. Agree with the light switch! It is 996-613-535-00 and not too difficult to replace especially with a good DIY ;-) https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/996-turbo-gt2/176814-diy-head-light-switch-remove-replace.html
  15. May be the ground is at fault, located near the right turbo between body and engine
  16. In the DIY section you will found this :https://www.renntech.org/forums/tutorials/article/252-the-porsche-996-twin-turbo-potential-issues/ Look at the spoiler deployment failure links and especially this one: http://rennlist.com/forums/996-turbo-forum/238455-996-tt-rear-spoiler-problems-help-3.html also this one!!!: http://rennlist.com/forums/996-turbo-forum/952041-casting-parts-for-wing-pump.html

  21. I got mine at a Audi dealer and it is part# 4A0905849B. I've paid I think $40.00 (26 euro) here in Montreal (normally more expensive than anywhere...) Also a DIY can be found here (it is a boxer but almost the same) http://industryfigure.com/berkeley/Porsche/ignitionswitch.htm and also here: http://www.gagme.com/greg/996/ignition
  22. When I took my engine out for coolant pipe welding I have found many of those retaining bracket at fault. Lines coming out and rubbing on structure or adjacent coolant pipe etc etc...I have used over 70 tie wrap to secure everything in the engine compartment, all the sense lines attachment, all the underside coolant pipes etc. I can tell you I got no rattle on this car ;-)
