  1. Rickeager Please look here Growling on start. You are saying that you order a new one does it mean the number you found is the old one or it is already modify. If you are replacing it yourself please let me know if the old one was stuck in open position and if there a way to reposition the valve or clean it to get it to operate normally. Thanks, J.P.
  2. You got it it is Pentosin CHF202 and it is about $18.75 a liter at Pelican part....
  3. Impressive work. Very professionnal result. Congratulation. I guess you have an autoclave. Is it at home or at work that you can do this specialized work ? How many coat or carbon fiber fabric did you used to get this result...J.P.
  4. Some people seems to have a lot of fun with this car in the snow especially the european Porsche TT owners that I met but here in Montreal they used too much salt on the street and I prefer to stay away from this corrosive environment....Have a great winter,J.P.
  5. I am storing the TT in an unheated garage starting november first to may first. I am located in Montreal Canada and the temperature can go down to -30 F. I have read the Porsche suggestion. Mentionning to leave the car on the groung to prevent exposing suspension element to rust and to move it every 3 weeks to prevent flat spot on tires. I am also connecting a battery tender to control the battery charge. I also had the suggestion to park the car on a sheet of plastic to cut ground humidity. But should I start the engine every two weeks and let it run for a while or just turn the starter to get oil on the cylinder walls. If you had the experience of winterizing your turbo please let me know. Thanks for your suggestions, J.P.
  6. There is a test as per Repair Manual for the accumulator: 1. Checking accumulator 1. Cold start engine (accumulator temperature approx. 20°C) and let run for approx. 20 seconds (accumulator is full). 2. With the engine switched off, depress the clutch pedal repeatedly until an abrupt rise in pedal resistance against your foot can be felt (accumulator is empty). While doing this, count the number of depressions carried out up to the point of the rise in pedal pressure! 3. If the number of times the pedal was depressed is over 35, the accumulator is faulty and must be replaced! Accumulator part# 996 314 166 00 price about $120.00 Clutch slave cylinder part# 996 116 237 52 price about $430.00 I also made a DIY Clutch slave cylinder and accumulator replacement
  7. Accumulator consist of a reservoir with a rubber membrane that divide the reservoir in two sections. On one side there is pressurized air and on the other side clutch fluid. (Pentosin) When you start the car the steering pump pressurized the fluid inside the accumulator and provide you with extra clutch application in case of drop of pressure. This is done by the air under pressure on the other side of the membrane. I guess Porsche engineers installed these accumulators to backup the steering pump when engine idling...
  8. I replace recently the clutch slave cylinder and there is nothing that you can lubricate on that unit. I don't think the noise can come from there. Is it possible this noise come from the pedals area under the dash instead of under the car. Hope this help, J.P.
  9. Do you have the hose part #. I would like to see in the parts catalog which one you had to replaced. Thanks.
  10. Forgot to ask. Was it a recall paid by PNA or it was a voluntary issue.... Thanks again, J.P.
  11. I got this growling noise for two seconds on start-up and it is ok after engine oil pressure build-up. Check the TSB 1728 and I got the light blue dot on the valve also the bolts got a light blue touch-up on them (see pics) but the part number on the valve is not as per TSB. It should be 996 207 012 74 that number supersede 996 207 012 73 but the number on the case looks like 996 207 112 2R (???). I guess it is the number of the case not the assembly...Can it be possible that even the modified check valve is stuck open....
  12. In the DIY you will found the way to do this job....Do it yourself, plugs change... Good luck...
  13. If I don't have access to code readers...When I got a problem like that I always try to eliminate the basics. Air filter, Fuel filter and after that I start working towards leak in the intake which is normally the most probable cause. Look for loose clamps on DV's or failed DV's or misalignment of those valves to the F pipe. Or the throttle valve clamp or turbo clamps are not installed properly. Even leaks at the pressure sensors itself... Before you start to work towards the more difficult possibility like plugs...I don't think your oil change got anything to do with it since you don't touch anything related to turbo boost on an oil change....Normally....And yes the engine oil and turbo oil are the same. Some do drain the turbos oil when they do an oil change some don't. But like Wross said it is hard to understand exactly your problem...It can also be bad fuel....Many many possibilities...
  14. We are many time left in the dark for many aspect of the cars technologies especially since the computers are part of the pictures...But it is still interesting to learn about it and work on these creations...
  15. I discover a fuel cooler which is located right on top of the engine when you open up the engine compartment part# 996 573 069 02. There is four ports, 2 for the R134A refrigerant and 2 for the fuel. Does that mean when the a/c system is not working there is no fuel cooling? I guess so...Strange... I would like to learn more about the TT and his technology. Is there a possibility to obtain technical notes or even courses. I guess the mechanics at Porsche have a technical training when a new model come out? Just curious....
  16. May be the ECU is inform by the pressure sensor of a pressure drop and ask the turbos to produce more boost... But there is a leak and there should not be an increase of pressure...Uhm... Busted or plausable ?
  17. When was the last time you replaced the air filter ? Or may be the fuel filter....
  18. Yeah, you know how it is with these fast cars... You don't pay attention for a few seconds and suddenly you're slightly above the speed limit. :D Sorry to slide off-topic, but you might like this one too: (no, the car wasn't stock anymore...) Wow! I am amazed. Pleasure of living in an European country...
  19. Yes it can be the stater teeth and also the bendix that refuse to engage the engine gears(extend towards the gear). If you hear the starter turning free it is obviously one of the two scenario. If the starter is not turning at all it can be the clutch switch or another electrical problem...
  20. Was a PITA to removed but finally got one off and I had to go to the dealer and order a new one. Thanks to all of you for your help and suggestions.
  21. Take a look there 997 parts or may be parts 997 997 552 351 01
  22. Hello Pierre. I got my info from this thread and I have to admit I never saw anything higher than .7...stock boost
