  1. Check with covercraft. I use dust cover but its for indoor use only. Never leaves any lint on the top
  2. I have decided to pass on the extended warranty as I also believe the cost/benefit isn't there. The company I was looking at is Fidelity which I have heard nothing but good things about. Interesting in that the dealer had the best price on the warranty. Thanks for all the feedback. We'll see what happens especially now that we have 3 cars with no warranty.
  3. Actually from what I have read and found out this is a fairly comprehensive warranty. It comes down to risk and from what I have seen so far the Boxster has been a reliable vehicle. Just wondering if others have experienced the same
  4. Looking for thoughts on an extended warranty on a 2007 S. The OEM warranty ends in a week so I am considering purchasing a 6 year 60k for $5200. The vehicle has been very reliable with only a couple of warranty repairs, none were mechanical. I feel that the most likely stuff to go is the convertible top push rods, sensors, switches and in rare cases something mechanical which makes it tough to justify the warranty cost. But if something mechanical does go it will be expensive. This is a summer fun car with less than 25k miles. Thoughts???
  5. I would just go ahead an replace it and not be concerned. The battery in my 07 987s is disconnected all winter while in storage with no issues for the past 3 years. I also replaced the battery last spring and didn't do anything to maintain voltage. If the windows don't work in auto mode just lower them all the way and raise them back up manually. They should be reset. One time there was a error code that prevented the window from working properly in auto mode, the dealer reset it.
  6. Very good point on the fuel. I fill the tank with non-oxy fuel (usually the last couple of fills are non-oxy) before storing for the winter and also use a stabilizer. Since I store in an heated facility (45 to 50 degrees) I don't do much other than increase the tire pressure to 50 psi to prevent flat spots. I also throw in a couple of dryer fabric sheets for fragrance and some contend it keeps out rodents (an old boat storage trick). The place I store at disconnects the battery since charges are against code. No problems the past 2 winters.
  7. I had the side vents and front vents painted shortly after purchasing the 07 S. The side vents can also be purchased from bumperplugs. The front vents require the bumper to be removed which adds to the cost a bit. I would really like to add the matching center console but concerned about the heat build up on black.
  8. They should have been installed since day one...good that the dealer is taking care of it.
  9. Completed this mod a couple of weeks ago, nice improvement. I believe there is a subtle change in the sound since there is now 2 pipes from the T versus one that the OEM has. I went to the dealer for installation since it does involve loosening one of the mufflers. It can be a DIY if you are able to lift the car enough to get at the muffler.
  10. I am convinced the clear bra is the way to go. In a trip through Colorado and Utah the clear bra took a beating especially with bugs. A good cleaning with polish and wax did the trick. I would suggest adding some around the rear intakes since this area is wider then the front. We received severe rock damage in this area to the point of needing to be painted (dang road construction). I will add the clear covering after this is done. As a testament to the durability of the clear bra I was in a bad spot in heavy traffic one morning and had to stop very fast. To keep from getting rear en
  11. 12000 on an 07. Took a road trip in September to Colorado and Utah, put on 3300 miles in 10 days. All I can say is what an impressive car!!
  12. Could it be bad gas? Did it happen on the same tank?
