  1. You may have better luck but the Costco here in LV cannot order them. Check the local discount tire, I got the local DIscount Tire to match the tire rack price and then add $30 per tire for mount, balance, etc.
  2. Looks like a set of vice grips? I am going to call my guy at the stealer and see what they charge for the install and I will make a decision based on that as the cost of an insurance policy against a broken windshield or airbag light.
  3. Here is a better way to find out: If the color code starts with: C: Graphite Grey B: Space Grey There is also "Classic Grey" and "Grey" but they are not on the 996.
  4. Ordered the self-dim interior mirror for the car and have no idea what the level of difficulty is on this nor what SPECIAL TOOL 9578 is? Is this something that the dealer needs to do? Any help, ideas, or suggestions? TIA, Dell
  5. There is graphite and space. The easiest way to find out your interior color code is to remove an interior piece and read the part number off of it. The end of the part number will end with a letter and a number. That will tell you.
  6. The GT3 wheel can be purchased in narrow body AND wide body offsets.
  7. I'll inquire on my next visit. Thanks for the heads up.
  8. Which one's they took out or which one's they put in?
  9. Oh rats! I had no idea to check something like that. I would have to call them back and find out. It looks like thre were 6 total rings used (3 with one part number and 3 with another). My car is a 2000. Do you think I need to folow up? If so, can you direct me to the TSB so I can talk to my service guy. Thanks Loren, Dell
  10. So I finally took it in to get fixed. Took all of 1/2 a day. Result???? Leaking O-Rings on Spark Boots Bank 2. Whatever that means. They replaced (3) 999 707 343 40 and (3) 999 707 215 40 Rubber o-rings. And they also cleaned all the oil that had accumulated. Now, she's all ready for the track weekend!!! Thanks for all your input. Dell
  11. Let your car cool down and remove the plastic cover that protects the filter cartridge and empty it. It holds a descent amount of oil in it. Replace the cover, then start the car so the oil gets moving again and then shut off. Repeat a few times till you get the desired level.
  12. Step 1...remove the part to be painted. Step 2...send to Eric Step 3...Receive part and install Step 4...Thank God you didn't paint it yourself b/c you will never get a professional look in a DIY save money kinda way. That's why there is so much crap on eBay that is painted in somebody's garage. Remember, you are not a paint professional. Leave that to them......it is not like trying to change the oil like the pro's. Paintwork is a science.
  13. I'll let the others on the board hee chime in since we have discussed this at length over on rennlist but I still think you have 2 options you should consider first. 1)call around to ther places to locate 2 of the PS2's and then change ALL 4 when they run out next. Or 2)Use the PSRib.
  14. First off, the Cayman is a totally different car for a different type of driver. It is not set to undermine the 911 sales, but that is yet to be seen. As for your claims of 302hp those numbers have NEVER been released. If anything the CaymanS with not cross the 300 mark, probably be about 295 and the based model Cayman (to be released later) will probably be down in the 240 range like the base model Boxster.
  15. The RMS is a manufacturing defect not an assembly issue. Although some RMS get installed backwards (small %). If your not one of the unfortunate ones to get one that is marginal or out of tolerance then you should be just fine. RMS is not induced, it is something your have from the get go, just takes varying amounts of time to actually see it. Wouldn't it be great if they could determine a priori if a car is marginal or otu of tolerance on the assembly line? Ooops, that would cost $$$ to do and re-install of a new engine if found. Not something PaG is likely to do.
  16. Saw it last night during the basketball. Very cool.
  17. I paid $1450 shipped about a year ago from B-Wine. I paid my local dealer $100 (1 hr labor) to install it. $100 is so worth my time on a Saturday to not have to do it even though I enjoy the DIY projects.
  18. That clarifies it. I was confused how it was posted several months ago so I did a search to get the specifics. When I couldn't find it, I realized your user ID showed only 1 post. That was what I was asking. ANyway, back on topic. Did you have any pics of the product? Did you figure out if this was something that could be done on the 996 as well?
  19. Very welcome, glad you got use out of it.
  20. it's on the way jinijazz. Glad you could get use out of it.
  21. I did the litronics retrofit on my 996 and sold the wiring harness that came with it sometime after I installed them and decided not to wire up the auto level feature. Didn't realize this was part of it. Man I feel like a jack*ss for selling another P-Car owner this kit without a vital part. I guess I should just trash it?
  22. Or if you are anal as some of us........torque it yourself when you get home with your own torque wrench :)
  23. Found a box in my garage and contained a part that looks like some kind of overgrown relay or control module. 000 044 900 38 Any ideas what it is and what it is for?
  24. There was an ad in Pano this month that included the switch as well for less than that. It was Braman Porsche on p76 for $1439.
