  1. 000-044-500-36 This is the ENTIRE kit part number. FYI....Gert has it on sale for 1995 Euro shipping included. Suncoast is $2600 http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/merchant...y_Code=996sport
  2. Not to mention I have seen MANY being sold for mid to high 70's when many people were buying them NEW for low 70's since the sales were very slow on that car and many sat on the lot. Dealers were discounting them up $20K of factory holdbacks plus some of dealer profit.
  3. Only 2 posts over here Rob? Quite the opposite over at Rennlist :)
  4. Well I can't say how the top weighs but I can promise it isn't more than my 996 hardtop which is 73 pounds. It is not heavy at all but by no means a one person job. This is a 2 person job or one if using the a hardtop hoist (usually run about $175).
  5. I be interested to see the tech manual that states book time on the clutch is only 5 hours.
  6. While it should be less than $1500 it won't be unless you have a VERY good relationship with your SA or you go to an indy. I just went through this and I can tell you book time is 10 hours on the clutch job and the parts are not cheap either. The clutch kit is nearly $600 list price plus you need to replace a few misc parts while in there (seals, bolts, etc.). The dealer will charge in the $2-2.5K range. I just had mine done at my local indy. My total bill was a bit more ($2500) but I also needed a new dual mass flywheel (OUCH!) and I had them do the plugs and poly belt as well since it was time for my 60K service. Had all I needed was the clutch they were going to charge me $1300 (850 labor and 450 parts). The flywheel was **** near $1K!!!!!! Let's just say I am so happy my Christmas gift was a new clutch (detect sarcasm).
  7. Just looked over the website and would be VERY curious what it can do. If it's nothing more than an OBD tool that will allow us to reset the airbag light then I would definitely pass. But........if it turns out to be closer to a PST2 then I am on board for the first group buy that gets organized. Can't wait to hear your response to the product Loren.
  8. Welcome to the bolt-action feel of the SSK. I actually like it. One of my favorite mods.
  9. Sounds like a great list of upgrades! Any pics you could post would be great since these are alot of the upgrades I wanted to do to my Pepper. Also would be interested to hear about the bypass pipes and what you meant by ricer sounding. Too high pitched?
  10. Absolutely hideous! What a waste of a beautiful Cayenne. Ricer tail lights and that Chrysler 300 front is starting a gag reflex here. WHen I see crap like this I ask one question.........Why?
  11. Clutch life is based on YOUR drving style and is not a design defect. I have seen clutches last as little as 2 days and as long as 100K (neither my car just reports from my SA). RMS is a <$1K fix and the newest seal (4th gen) seems to be the winner. Did you do your homwork BEFORE you bought this car? Did you have a full PPI done? Did you research the history of the car service related? If you did then you did your homework, if you didn't still get it all done. Now go drive your car and quit worrying about it. Life is TOO short to worry about a seal if it leaks. If it does, you fix it.
  12. I think I found it. Didn't realize how high up it is. Here is a picture I took under the car. It is the black plastic cover looking thing left of center in the middle of this picture?
  13. Here are 2 pics I took of my drivers side wheel well and was hoping somebody could direct me to the clutch bleed valve in the pics. Feel free to P-Shop an arrow or something to point it out. Totally OT, but I just noticeds this is my 1000th post! Wahoo, so what do I win Loren???
  14. I ordered my RoWM030 for my C2CAB from Phil (and Jeff) at Sunset and it took about 4 weeks to get here from Germany. He gets it from Germany then turns out and send it to you.
  15. Hey Jim....yes I ordered the MKII lip NOT the Supercup lip then made modifications for it to fit properly (see pics on page 1 of this thread).
  16. I have been changing the oil in my 996 for the last 30K miles and change it every 5K-7.5K and NEVER had to add oil between changes. A couple times between changes I have maybe added .5 qt but that was after a hard weeekend on the track. I have a tough time believing that anything more than what I experience is normal.
  17. So plugs for the 99-01 are different than the 02+??? If so, what makes them different? Thanks as always Loren!!!
  18. Getting ready to do my 60K service and wanted to verify what I need to be using in my 2000 996CAB? Just want to make sure that the part number I furnish is the most recent and correct for my model. Are all NA 996's using the same plug??? Retail cost??? TIA, Dell
  19. Check your thread over on Rennlist. I posted an answer there for you. Hope it helps.
  20. My you are quite the defensive person. All I said was that I wasn't sure if the link was available to non-contributing members......thus, if it wasn't then you should consider donating to the site to have access to those things. That's it, nothing more, nothing less. At no time did I say it was mandatory nor imply that it was. And where in the world to you come off saying that I told you that you needed in depth knowldege? You got all of that from what I said. You my friend, are wound a bit too tight and a bit hyperparanoid. Please relax, go back a re-read the entire thread and you will quickly realize that it is YOU that is out of line and making stuff up. I do everything I can to help newbie's like yourself since I got the very same help the day I come on for the first time. But with the confrontational style you exhibit you will NEVER get the support or help you are looking for. Remember, it is YOU that wants the help, not us. We are just glad to give it.
