  1. I ordered the Z1 Star Specs couple of days ago... should be able to put them on when weather gets warmer which should only be weeks away.
  2. Topless: I share the same thought when I thought about changing speakers on the car. I had a nice kenwood mp3 deck, nice amp /w a set of Focal 6.5" components on my previous car and obviously my stock non-bose system is a noticable downgrade. BUT, doing an overhaul on the whole system is just not worth it cost wise and a convertible (except for Lexus SC430, which supposedly has an awesome sound system) will never provide decent acoustics to begin with. I think the best I'll do is just get the Dension gateway 500 installed so I can plug in a USB stick for MP3s. Hey, when the top & windows are down I hear shiat all anyhow...
  3. Any rubber, when they're new, are much quieter than when they're worn out. Just get the best rubber you can afford. And how could you still have the original tires when your car is a 2001?
  4. Did any of you got dinged for custom/duty fees for having it shipped across the border?
  5. Chrome will eventually chip off and rust. I got the 1-piece staineless ones on ebay instead.
  6. I'd be interested in your old wheels too if they're the 18" carrera lightweights. Those 18" turbo wheels you're looking at are replicas, and the p-cars in those images have the real 19"s mounted.
  7. I don't think I have this since I have glove box in my 04?
  8. What option do I have without spending the big bucks on Brembo 355mm big brake kit that costs $3700? I know I can upgrade to the 986S brakes (link below) but are there bigger ones out there that are simple bolt-ons such as caliper & rotors off of a 997? http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/merchant...ode=98625brakes
  9. I believe Porsche modified the snorkle design since MY03.
  10. If anyone actually go on the Porsche website it actually says this as one of the new features. "Is there anything that feels as right as executing a gear change in a Porsche Boxster? It’s a feeling engineered in the Boxster to jumpstart your pulse rate each time your right hand makes its move. Rapid gearshifts on both models are achieved with a short-throw mechanism offering a 26% (five-speed) and 15% (six-speed) reduction in gear-lever travel from that of previous models."
  11. I also left out that green plate knowing that it didn't come with the 9x7 assembly. I kept it and threw out the 986 assembly.
  12. In response to why B&M cost more $. It's because they can (charge more) as they're the only guys around that makes these short shifters. In additon their shifter is made of stainless steel and aluminum which cost more to make.
  13. Thanks for the tip Cassie. Upon putting the shifter into 1st and 2nd... it instantly brought a huge grin on my face. Travel distance is PERFECT, I don't see why I would need a shorter length of shift than what this offers. It has a MUCH more positive feel engaging gears compare to the loose stock shifter. This is definitely what the 986 should have come from the factory... makes me fall in love with driving it all over again. B)
  14. Wow that was quick!!! Thanks a lot! Now I know what I'm going to do this weekend.
  15. Just got myself the 987/997 Shifter Assembly from suncoast finally after reading a lot about it here. Is there a DIY instruction posted here that I cannot find? I've tried doing searches and flip thru pages but nothing seem to come up. Thanks all!
  16. There are thousands and thousands of wheels available on the market that varies in offset, bolt pattern, etc etc that there's a slim chance you'll see the wheel that you want in store before purchase. Have you check out Pfaff tuning? Since they deal with Porsches they probably have a better idea of what fits. http://www.pfafftuning.com
  17. I don't have this on my car but this suspension setup definitely is a steal. I certainly look forward to getting this the day when my shocks are worn. And I never understand why people feel the need to tweak their suspension setup... maybe they feel they're better than Porsche engineers.
  18. Tool Pants: On the back it's written "986.xxx.xxx.xxx -> 987.xxx.xxx.xxx" so I assume it's for both 986 and 987. They fit perfectly on my 986.
  19. http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/merchant...ry_Code=986Tran
  20. It's my understanding that the 987 non-S uses 986S brakes, and the 987S gets even larger brakes than before. Why not just go to the junk yard and find a 986S and just swap them into your non-S?
  21. Hello fellow Canadian! I too was disappointed to find out the retail price for these at my local Canadian dealer. I installed these door sills on my 986 last week and I ordered them from Suncoast. They came in factory porsche packaging and appears to be genuine. Suncoast provide an awesome service. B)
