  1. I use 987 18" wheels on 1998 986 without issues including some track time. I just bought a set of 17"x8.5 for square set-up for tracking bc the Toyos in 18" are a whole lot more expensive! That said, this is not an endorsement of whatever you will do to your car.

I drove a lotus elise about 6 weeks ago and it made me want by boxster to handle like that. the :PSS9 is a good first step, I love them. for power I am thinking of LN engineering 3.6 kit with porting. But I don't know, it is a lot of money. I plan to use my car mostly street, the mountain roads here in Washington state are...

  4. I would think at least 4hrs of labor + parts ($60). I do my own bearings but it is involving and the special tool needed to extract the bearings and press the new ones in runs in the $250.
  5. 98 boxster built 22 dec 97 in finland. Bought new and have now reached 127,777 miles today. No major failures thus far. water pump, AOS, and starter at 95K. IMS Retrofit planned during the winter break. RMS & clutch at the same time although the small leak I had in the past stopped a year ago and never reappeared. The car is slowly working its way towards BSR.

Whatever you do, engine in or out, please consider posting a diy on it as I have 127K on mine and considering doing this as well, however I am uncertain as to what level of expertise it will require. I will have the tranny out for an IMSR, RMS, Clutch job, 160 thermostat and coolant hoses change, which I feel confortable doing but the inside of the engine would be new territory.

  8. I just read the article you provided the link to and I must admit it got me curious... has anyone on this board used Toluene? I only use 93 octane gas in my car so in this instance i would consider trying this to improve overall performance...
  9. According to Sputter on 986forum.com the 6th is driverside (LHD cars) nearest to the rear bumper. Mike Sure enough, I replaced the spark-plug in cylinder six and all is well! the new plug I fitted a day prior was cracked... I must have done that without realizing!   11. The weird thing is: I just got back from autozone for a reading of the same P0306 code due to misfiring after I changed my spark plugs yesterday. I am now looking for info as to which cylinder is #6 as well!!! Let us know if you do! Mike
