  1. Would this be a daily driver? The cars are apples to oranges in differences. A good paint job is not cheap. You should get a PPI.
  2. +1 There should be speakers in there.
  3. Any others experiencing restricted access in the service position? TIA
  4. I am very happy with the Goodyear Eagle F1's on my 18's.
  5. I am very happy with these on my 2000, 18" wheels with sport suspension.
  6. Good info thanks. I would go to another dealer and get another opinion on the rough idle or at least ask for the service manager. Seems to me that should not be normal <_< I am considering a V6 Cayenne and will pay particular attention to the idle when I take a test drive. Keep us updated.
  7. Sorry I have not been clear. But you have answered my question. You are correct I have the Interstate battery with the vent tube in the middle rear of the battery and do not have an adapter. I will see about getting the vent tube adapter. Thanks.
  8. Yes, it does. I am concerned because I previously had a vented Interstate battery, but the vent tube was not attached. When I recently replaced the Interstate battery (with another Interstate battery) there was corrosion in the battery tray, but not on the terminals. There appeared to be some water dripping out of the tube coming out of the battery, I thought maybe this is what was causing the corrosion. I cleaned the battery tray and installed a battery mat in the tray. The shape of the vent tube connector is different for the Interstate battery from the original Porsche battery, so the tube connector will not attach to the Interstate battery.
  9. Does anyone know if there is a drain plug adapter for the Interstate brand battery?
  10. Anyone have any updates on the GAHH tops w/ glass window as far as durability? They have a banner ad that says "now with a new reinforced window pocket". Does anyone have information as to what this is?
  11. Got the Goodyear's a few months ago, very happy with them. I have not driven in the rain with them.
  12. Plexus seems to be the most used. It's what I use. if Plexus won't clean it use Flitz and a microfiber rag(yes seriously) I've been using it on the dodger of my sailboat for years and it's the same type of plastic, having just bought my 986 and it having a foggy window at purchase, Plexus wouldn't clean it, 1 pass of Flitz brought it back to 85%, another to nearly new if you don't know what Flitz is, it's a metal polish that's non corrosive, non abrasive, and has a protectant in it, it's the best stuff in the world edit: here's a link http://www.flitz-polish.com/?source=gg&cam...name&term=flitz Microfiber towel is the way to go.

  14. not on my 986 but on my A4... if it's in your direct line of site, I'd take a bat to the windsheild and have it replaced... assuming you have glass coverage, the repairs can be very good and if it's not in your direct line of site you probably won't notice it if it's done by a skilled person... however, if it's in front of your face you'll see it no matter what and it'll bug the hell out of you It's way off to the side, so seeing it is not much of an issue. It looks like the crack could spread, otherwise I wouldn't be concerned about it. I understand the windshield is an intregal part of the structure of the vehicle, so I was concerned that having this repair done might weaken it.
  15. Recently got a small crack from road gravel hitting the windshield. Has anyone had their windshield on their 986 "repaired"?
  16. Here's another option. low cost sil guard I have not seen these in person. I have considered them myself.
  17. It is a lot! :cursing: That's what I had to pay at McKenna Porsche in Calif.
  18. Same here, no coolant in trunk, but new tank solved the coolant appearing on the ground. Yep. I just went through it too. :cursing: Hope it's all better soon. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  19. While the cap 2 does have a cleaner look, I still prefer the first one.
  20. Thanks for the info guys. I have been considering getting a non smoker tray for my 2000 with the sport design option, but I did not know what the color was called or what the part number was. Now I should be able to track one down.
