  1. Thank you so much for the info. I'v just read this message. Thanks once again.
  2. My '99 2.5L (tiptronic) engine replaced under warrenty. The tech said the sleeve in the first cylinder dropped and shattered the piston while it was moving up. My car keeps loosing coolant. I don't see any coolant in the trunk but there are some drifting in front of the right rear wheel. When thermal gauge's needle pointing at the right of the 0 of the number 180, the car is very sluggish and won't shift into higher gear. When applying a little more pressure on the gas pedal, the LEDs alternating flashing at numer 3 and letter D. Anyone has this problem???
  3. perry190, I paid $73 for the set. So it will be $73 plus shipping. Let me know if you are okay with the price. I take paypal.
  4. I have a '99 tiptronic. I was driving normal in auto mode and the light indicated I was in the 4th gear. I punched the gas trying to get into the next lane. It felt like it was down-shifting but the RPM went up to 6500 and stayed for about 2 seconds the shifted into a gear. I don't know which gear it was but the transmission light flashed alternately back and forth between 4 and M. The drive was still driveable but pickup speed was very slow. I stop the car. Turned off the engine then start the car again. It ran normal after that. I tested the car again and experienced the same problem. This happened before but I thought it was me switching between auto and manual. Has any one has this problem? What should I do? TIA
  5. adsach, Thanks for the info. On my last oil change, the tech told me that I will have to replace the pads soon but don't know how soon. If I bring them the frot and rear sets, purchased from the internet for ~$650, they will have them installed for $400 (for 4 hours). Does this labor cost seem reasonable?
  6. Tool Pants, My "Brake Wear" light just lit a few minutes ago. How soon do I have to replace the pads? Will I be able to drive the car for another week? Thanks
  7. Jinster, If you are interest, I have a brand new set, of the 4X6 plates, that I want to get rid off. I can have them trimmed to fit under the grills with no charge. Let me know.
  8. Baconaire, I checked the Digimoto website and Porsche is not their make support list. Were you aware of this? They have a new version released v3.7.
  9. aak5454, I went thru the same thing. There wasn't a single drop in my drunk so I was assuming it was okay. Until yesterday, I had the rear on ramps to replace the spoilers (underbody air scoops), the coolant dripped right in the front of the right rear wheel. Do you know the part # for the tank and tool used to replace the tank? My Boxster is '99. Thanks.
  10. The 4X6 Plate (INFINITY KAPPA 462.5CFP - 4 ohm OR Infinity Kappa 462.7cfp - 2 ohm) see attached pic. All you have to do is sanding the plates to fit the opening on the dash and put the grills over the plates. When available, I will take the pic of how the plates is mounted.
  11. I haven't got around replacing my HU yet so I'm looking for reply from your post for advice. I have done a little upgrade on the speakers and amp and here is my 2cents. Amp: I upgraded my stock 40X4 watt amp with McIntosh MC440m (50X4 + 100X2). This is an awesome amp. Speakers: I replaced my dash speakers with Infinity Kappa 4X6 plates which consists of a 4" mids with 3/4" tweeters. The plates are made out of plastic so you can sanding to fit under the grills. They are 60watt rms so running 50 watt to each plate is perfect. For the door speakers, DO NOT trash the OEM speaker enclosures. You can replace the speakers with a pair of 5.25". I have a set Polk dx3055 component set installed. The mids are slighly bigger than the OEM speakers so you have to use spacers to mount them and make sure they are sealed. I have a 100watt running to each set and they are LOUD. You will suprised! I have the rear speaker set from Porsche which has 4 3.5" and each is 6 ohm. I have about 30 watt running to each and crossed at 250 hz. I would recommend this because it gives a full body and sourround sound. Concl: The Infinity plates are pretty loud and may sore your ears because the sound reflects from the front windshield. For the doors, a component set will give lots of mid-bass. If you have a sub, I think a pair of high power coax will do. I hope this info will help you in someway.
  12. I have a '99 2.5L (65K miles) and is my daily driving car. I live in Florida and the summer weather is around 95 degree. At 75mph, the radiator temp. was normal but raised I slowed down or in traffics. The radiators' fans switched on automatically when the needle reached the right edge of the 0 of the 180. The radiators' fans seem to function properly but the coolant level dropped and I have to refill it every other week. Is my water pump going bad? Does anyone has this problem? Please help!
  13. Tool Pants, May I have a copy of the diagram, too. Has anyone sucessfully converted the line out from CDR-220 to RCA out? Thanks
  14. Any help is truely appreciated! I have a premium sound package in my '99. I would like to keep the factory CDR-210 and upgrade my factory amp. If anyone has done this before, may I have the brand and part number of the harness was used. Thanks.
