  1. Federal emissions warranty is 8 years, is it not - so you should still be inside of it.
  2. Loren had a picture, and I’ll be damned if I can find it now, maybe he will re-post, which also shows using the cross support as a temporary jack point. I used this point a couple weeks ago without issue.
  3. As a Contributing member, you have access to the TSBs. See this one for info on Transmission Oils 996_3_29_08_Approved_Oils.pdf
  4. I had my lower idler pulley replaced because it was moaning/whining @ ~41.5k. Are yours making any noises?
  5. Seems unnecessary, unless of course you need an alignment every time you have your oil changed, which should be an indicator you have bigger problems.
  6. Can you elaborate? If the struts alone are the same length and/or provide the same ride height as those being replaced, how would the alignment specs be modified?
  7. Can you elaborate? If the struts alone are the same length and/or provide the same ride height as those being replaced, how would the alignment specs be modified?
  8. If the ROW M030 kit is lower that what you are currently running , which you didn't specify, then yes, you would likely need to get another alignment to maintain your current settings. "..that far off" is pretty subjective.
  9. I think I'd find another shop, starting with an alignment shop. If your tire wear is even, it sounds normal. Get it up in the air and take some pictures.
  10. I would think it that would be enough to start it. IDK. What about jumping it, or putting the battery on a charger?
  11. What's your voltmeter read when you turn the key to the first position?
  12. Taking a stab at this - sounds like the 200 cell cats aren't doing enough to satisfy the post-cat 02 sensor.
  13. Do you know where the version changes are detailed?
  14. I'm sure someone here knows them, but, to get you started, Right Click / Save As https://techinfo.porsche.com/techinfo/pdf/e...996_KATALOG.pdf Then cruise through and see if you can find them. Good Luck. :)
  15. People pay that and more for 1 tire. The radiators, when taken care of, I'm sure will last 10s of years
  16. My guess since we're all playing :) = perhaps lugging the engine is causing excessive heat causing detonation/pre-ignition?
  17. Are you saying you can't get the gear shift into those gears, or, you slot it in, let out the clutch, but nothing happens, no forward movement?
  18. As I may have mentioned somewhere in this thread, the rads were 'clean' in the sense that debris had been removed. The corrosion developed in the outboard lower corners of the rads, which are of course behind the AC condensers. Regular hosings might help, but I suspect the only way to prevent it would have been to regularly remove the bumper cover and separate the rads and AC condensers as some here do from time to time. It was somebody else's car for six winters, so caveat emptor. But this is the first car I've owned with aluminum rads. Never would have occurred to me. (That said, I like this problem better than BMW's plastic rads and the fun way they fail!). Glad you caught before a catastrophic event. Link
  19. IME, if it were bushings, it would shimmy all the time, not just at certain speeds
  20. I had this recently; shimmy at varying speeds. I'd go with a balance on the front wheels first [road force will also be able to tell if a wheel is bent], then check the alignment.
  21. Link with others with similar noises, including Ben it looks like.
