  1. I am looking at upgrading the interior trim with the addition of polished wooden door handles on the inside of all four doors and also the 2 console grab handles plus the gear selector. Does anyone have any tips or procedure to change these items? Thanks.
  2. I am interested in fitting the illuminated door sill guards that are available for my 2003 Cayenne Turbo. The sill part number 955 044 800 00 has the logo "Cayenne" displayed. I have also seen the "Cayenne Turbo S" version is available. Does anyone know if there is a version available with just the logo "Cayenne Turbo" displayed? Thanks.
  3. Well gents, any update on whether the tyre pressure monitoring system can be installed in the Cayenne post production?
  4. Loren, Is the part number for the blank key the same for my 2003 Cayenne that has entry and drive option (I4F2) and is Australian version 433 MHZ frequency (I5D1)?
  5. Same here. I got the German message but no transfer or storage of contact info I was transmitting....must look deeper into this....
  6. Is there any way of transmitting my mobile phones' address book entries to the PCM via its IR port. I tried this today with the PCM recognising the transmission by reproducing the name briefly in the bottom part of the screen, so I knew the transmission and receive operation is operational. Unfortunately I cannot find the just transmitted info anywhere in the PCM (address book etc). The PCM owners manual gives no info on the Infra Red capabilities of the PCM. I have PCM 2 with version 3.0 software. Any clues gents?
  7. Tried mine on a downhill slope. There was no braking or transmission downshift to control the selected cruise speed.
  8. IPorsche, When you go to crank the engine and nothing happens, does the instrument display go blank as well? Mine had the faulty main battery. I had the display showing when I selected ignition on with all the fault messages, but the display would go blank as soon as I tried to crank the starter and nothing would happen. Also does your model have the 2nd dedicated rear mounted auxillary battery fitted for the starter?
  9. Where is the physical location of the comfort control module for the dimming control and how is it accessed? Thanks again boys.
  10. No seat position problems, however after carrying out a factory reset via the "comfort" setting on the instrument cluster display, I have also lost the passenger mirror moving down during reverse gear selection.
  11. Thanks Mudman2. Still no go on the dimming step levels. Regarding the operational logic of the system, do the light levels reset every cycle of the doors, meaning you have to reset the level, everytime you get in the car. Do they stay in a dimmed state even when you are not in the car, or are they turned off automatically to prevent battery drain. More info on the logic of operation would be appreciated.
  12. Can anyone advise on how the comfort dimming push button switch on the roof mounted light control panel is supposed to work. The manual says when all the doors are closed the door panel lights and footwell lights should be lit and can be dimmed via this switch. I cannot get the dimming to work via this switch. I have tried with headlights on and off, no change in the dimming level whilst pressing the switch. The footwell lighting remains at the same brightness level. Is it finger trouble from my end or is it a defect? Any ideas would be appreciated.
  13. Thanks for the info for lens/panel removal. Managed to disassemble the unit and found the centre contact tab to have localised heating damage around the plastic base, which was slightly melted and allowed the contact to move slightly preventing a positive contact surface. Repair was carried out by bending the contact tabs for a more positive contact with the sliding metal tab and filling in the melted plastic base under the damaged contact surface with epoxy resin. Operation is now 100% in all positions.
  14. Unfortunately the manual doesn't have anything about relamping these lamps. Will the lens come away seperately first when I pull from the sides or does the lens assembly with the lamp module come away together when I pull?
  15. RFM, which side does the light panel release from. I am levering the lens from the front and back and it doesn't want to let go, it springs back in to its home position. Any tips on the best way to remove the light lens?
  16. Any tips on how to remove the console from the roof? I have removed the two screws from inside the sunglass holder and have pulled the rear part of the console down. The problem is I cannot seem to release the front part of the console from the ceiling adjacent to the mini middle sunvisor. It feels like I will break something if I pull any harder. Thanks in advance.
  17. I had it done at Porsche service centre during the scheduled 90,000km service. They used an original OEM battery again, and will be happy with this if it provides the same length of service as the last one. The only info I have is that the OEM batt is provided as a dry cell and they add the acid upon installation. This is the best way to store a battery as the battery does not sit 'wet' for months or years waiting to be used. I can't comment on the batt post orientation.
  18. Replacing just the main battery did wonders for my 2003 Cayenne T. It was the original OEM battery and was 5.5 years old. Provided reliable service up to that point. I still haven't replaced the AUX cranking battery as it still starts the car no problems. If it is cranking ok, just replacing the main battery should suffice.
  19. Welcome to the Turbo world appleweed. You have chosen wisely. As I mentioned earlier, there is no substitute. ;)
  20. I had the suspension message with my 2003 CTT on start up, along with some other messages. The main battery hadn't been changed since the car was new. After replacing the main battery, all has been fine with no messages. Could be worthwhile looking at the battery.
  21. If the car has been serviced at Porsche Service Centres, and the Porsche people inspect the car and are happy, they can offer you the Porsche extended warranty for future problems. Anyway, good idea to get the coolant pipes fixed as a seized engine due to no cooling costs about $40,000.
  22. My 2003 CTT has the PCM 2.0 fitted with the PCM 3 software. The Australian nav cd I have is dated year 2004. I have heard that there is a 08/2007 nav cd available. The part number of the cd being 000 044 901 ZZ (I think). It supposedly covers both Australia and New Zealand. Can anyone confirm or provide more info if an updated nav cd exists for the Australian region and at what cost. Thanks.
  23. I had the same issues, coolant pipes and water pump leaking on a recently bought 03 Cayenne Turbo with 90,000km. Seems to be a very common problem after 5 years/100,000km. They do replace the plastic pipes with aluminium ones as part of a mod kit. I had mine done at a Porsche Service Centre here in Sydney, for the sum of $2950, for the coolant pipes and the water pump replacement. The labour charge is $165/hour. The intake manifold has to come out for access to the pipes, there are manhours involved in doing the repair. I was offered and obtained the Porsche Extended Warranty after the 90,000km service to cover for these events up to 2012. It covers the vehicle up to an age of 9 years. Cost is circa $2400 first year then about $2200 per year after that. Could be worthwhile considering.
