  1. This post eased my mind a little. I am a recently new owner of a 2000 Boxster 2.7L with 59K on it. I read all the doom and gloom of intermediate shaft failures and always wonder if one day I will have a blown engine. I knew that going in to the car, but something told me not to believe that it was a time bomb. I wonder how many of these stories about blown engines really are simpler like your story.
  2. While accellerating hard, my check engine light came on. The car showed no symptoms of anything at all, so I drove it for a while afterwards in town. When I got home, I disconnected the battery for about 20 minutes and hooked it back up. Reset the radio code and clock, and magic...no check engine light. I then drove for quite some time the following day, maybe 100 miles all in town over several hours and no check engine light. Just for fun, any guesses on what it was? My initial thoughts are an O2 sensor going bad or some kind of misfire thing. Thanks for the input. 2000 Boxster 59K 2.7L 5spd triple black (and beautiful)
  3. What a great thread. I will be performing the 60K service on my 2000 Boxster soon and this is exactly what I was looking for. :renntech:
  4. My 2000 doesn't move very well, but only moving back. All other directions move freely. I have to actually push with my feet to get it to go backwards. Luckily once it's set, I don't adjust often. It groans when moving backward. I have wondered if there is something blocking the track or if oil would help. I figure if I try oil and it doesn't help, it's likely the eletric motor. :renntech:
  5. Those pads look great. Lots of life left. Your posche will tell you when the pads are low. ;)
  6. Ok, my 2000 with a 2.7 has a small leak, presume it's the RMS. If I keep an eye on it and it doesn't get worse, is that ok? It seems to leak after I've driven it then kind of stops leaking. The spot on the ground is like quarter sized and doesn't seem to get larger over time. I have not changed my oil yet, but may consider a heavier weight when I do. So, is a slight RMS leak ok? Thanks. ;) 2000 5 spd 58K
  7. Need my radio code please! Type 4462 Ser1 15064667 24/99 Gal 00 Cdp2081 Becker 1 CDR-220 Thanks a million!
