  1. Cayennenegro, I would appreciate getting the link. I have an 08 CTT due to arrive any day and a Gateway 500 ready to install. Thanks for sharing.
  2. IZZY, thanks for the tips, I fooled around with the remote last night and discovered that I had accidentally pushed the circut board down against the button housing when I replaced the battery. Once I loosed up that fit the remote went back to normal. I really appreciate your advice on how the reset the remote. That will be a good tip for all of the folks on the forum. Happy Holidays!!
  3. Anyone have an idea of why a 996 key fob LED light would mysteriously come on? I replaced the battery to no avail? The key still starts the car but will not open the doors. Sounds to me like it is toast!! Any ideas? Thanks, Cay-Ute <_<
  4. Loren, those are probably correct, the car has 18" tires and it is a tiptronic with PCMII. That completes the mystery, as usual, we are all beholding to you for your knowledge. Thank you.
  5. I went to the Kindel site to use the decoder and was not able to find what option 226, 246 and 665 were for. Anyone have an idea? I also found a code 09991 which Kindel says is for the Exclusive Program. Does that mean the car was special ordered? Thanks for your help!!
  6. Just went through the same drill trying to find PS2's. Through a friend of a friend I actually talked to a Michelin US Vice President who informed me that Porsche had bought all of the 911 sized PS2s and that the only place to buy them was at a Porsche dealer. I decided that (1) I would never buy Michelins for any car again, (2) that Porsche could stick the PS2s where the sun don't shine. Although I love my C4 and Cayenne, I am beginning to feel a little like a chump from $35 a gallon Pentosin, $65 Cayenne windshield wipers, a fiber optic stereo system that NASA couldn't add upgrades to. PS: I put SO2As on my C4 and so far they are the best tires I have found for 911s.
  7. Loren, do you still have the Aerokit II skirt install instructions available? If so, would you kindly PM them to me. Brandywine has Aerokit II skirts on sale for $549 including shipping so I just ordered a set. Thanks in advance for your assistance. :drive:
  8. Go to the following site properautocare.com they have detailed descriptions of how to DIY repair of scratches. I found the site this weekend and found that it had a wealth of knowledge of how remove scratches and swirl marks. There is also a great article on an interview with several senior German car guys where they revealed the chemistry of the german clearcoats and recommended ways to fix minor scratches. I am not affiliated with them but I did purchase some stuff from them after reading the info they had and the various product recommendations. Good Luck!!
  9. Trauh, I just removed the hardtop from my 03 C4 Cab. I did as you, lowered the windows, unlatched the front and did the 1/4 turn on the rear. With the help of my wife, we gently moved the top towards the rear and everything came free pretty well, I would say we moved it as level as we could about 1-2 inches backward then we were free to lift it higher and off. Pretty straightforward actually. Hope this helps.
  10. I have PSE on my 03 Cab and I love the sound. I also like the option of turning it off when I want a little more peace and quiet. I have not heard alot of the aftermarket exhausts but I enjoy the sound of my PSE. I also like the fact that it is a factory product.
  11. I changed the wheel size my self using the dashboard computer, I think that charging you that much is ridiculous since you can do it yourself. I believe that you can find the way to do it in your owners manual. Good Luck!!
  12. My 03 C4 Cab came with 18 Inch Michelin Alpins (winter tires) I am going to want to get another set of wheels and tires for summer. I plan to stay with the 18 but the wheel&tire sets I see on EBAY have a variety of offsets. Can anyone point me to a place where I can figure out what will fit correctly on a 996 narrow body. For example, I have seen some great buys (seems that way to me) on Turbo Hollow Wheels but I am unsure whether they would fit my C4. I think my offsets are 50 front and 65 back. Any advice or counsel would be greatly appreciated.
  13. All, thank you for the comments, Eric as much as I admire your product, I have already been stopped by the local police for not having the front plate, since the entire assembly (license, mounting plate, plugs and screws) were in the front storage area she let me off the hook. Doubt I will be as luck next time. Eric, btw, you mentioned a white plug, the ones the dealer gave me are black, should I be looking for something different? If so, any ideas where they can be had. Bavarian, I will try the larger screw trick and see if that works. Appreciate the assistance!!
  14. <_< Hi Folks, I have a new (to me) 03 996 Cab and I am having a helluva time trying to keep the front license plate mounted. I live in a state where the front plate is required and I have not found a bombproof way to make sure that Porsche's plastic plugs stay in the bumper. Has anyone solved this? I just had the dealer replace all the front license plate hardware and this evening I can home to find the whole thing lying in the garage. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  15. I had the dealer put the 3M film on my Cayenne the day I picked it up. That was almost two years ago and there is no evidence of yellowing. I live in Colorado and instead of using salt or magnesium on snowy roads the CODOT uses crushed granite and I can tell you that the front of the car takes a beating, especially windshields. The 3M material on the front has taken alot of hits and near as I can tell the paint has not. I would highly recommend the 3M but I do not have any experience with Armor Glove. Good Luck with your C.
