  1. on sale right now: http://www.amazon.com/3M-39008-Headlight-Restoration-System/dp/B001AIZ5HY?tag=dealnewscom
  2. these guys give good prices with the correct parts: http://www.ecstuning.com no affiliation, just a happy customer buying coil packs and plugs.
  3. I had the dealer do mine under warranty years ago. Here is a DIY if interested: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/996-turbo-gt2/142967-diy-ps-pump-reservoir-change.html
  4. Dus10R...interesting...but I must say I don't understand what the difficulty is with tuning an X50 (which is the same engine with bigger turbos).
  5. +1 on Kevin's tune. He can send you a device that will log data and use the data to customize the tune. BTW, the headers are likely not getting you anything and if they are longer than stock, they may be hurting. There are several tuners that have a good rep. Mark (911tuning), EPL and Protomotive to name a few. I would give them each a call and see whom you feel most comfortable with
  6. I see two part numbers (both are labeled "cover leather" 996 552 155 03 with D12 for dark grey 996 552 965 00 and D12 Don't know why it has two PNs with identical descriptions? I'm sure Loren will sort it out.
  7. 99655215503 then the appropriate color code. What color for you? Black is A11
  8. read post three of this thread: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/46682-beep-locking-doors/?hl=%2B%2Bstereo+%2B%2Bground#entry255138
  9. Just to validate the fix, put the old filter in again and see if the rough idle returns....
  10. Yes, that is the power steering reservoir
  11. Actually I've seen a picture of one that went bad....and the remnants went into the turbos...not good. But as I already posted there are stories on both sides.
  12. So there really is NO performance advantage. There is a potential reliability advantage, but this is debatable.
  13. For what purpose? There is some debate on the Forge vs. Billet vs. OEM 710s differences. On one hand there is theory that the OEM's can fall apart with modified cars. On the other hand some of the billet's require maintenance...so pick your poison. As far as an F-hose...what other mod's are you running?
  14. Let's please not just use internet information to extend the madness. There are aftermarket filters that work quite properly and their advantage is they don't need to be replaced, but cleaned and re-oiled. I have had the BMC for 9 years with NO blown MAFS. now wether the y produce any performance enhancements is up for debate.
  15. Guys, I am not saying to everyone "go get your car flashed" and in particular I am not saying "get it flashed from someone you don't know and haven't done your research. about" That being said the stock programming from the factory is for, perhaps obvious reasons, conservative. There is much to be gained in terms of power especially when you have done other modifications. I don't care about warranty as my car hasn't been under warranty for some time (I did the tune when the car was a year old and was never denied warranty by my dealer). I don't care about re-sale as I intend on keeping it as long as I am able. Different strokes for different folks. Love the Feynman quote BTW....Challenger if I recall.
  16. Silver, No I have NEVER had problem with emissions test. If I did I would just have to connect my flash loader to the OBD port and re-load the stock program. Kevin at UMW did the flash. We went back and forth with data logs to generate my custom programming (as I am at altitude). I also have hybrid turbos along with some other goodies (see my sig link). It is incredibly more linear and the torque curve is fantastic compared to stock. Yes K16s don't lag as much as K24s, but they do have some lag.
  17. No worries, I just didn't want folks to get the idea a re-tune has no affect on the TT. Of course, do what you want.
  18. You had a bad tuner...my flash has greatly increased HP, made the torque curve flatter and lessened the lag. This is in general an incorrect statement for the TT. To the OP I agree with the others for your C4...tunes just don't have much affect on your model.
  19. You won't get any damage from driving with the car without the MAF. You might get codes thrown, but you can clear them after you install the new MAF.
  20. MY? You mean the horseshoe that surrounds the NAV unit? It just pries off. The vent....here:
  21. year and model please. On older models, emergency brake needs to be engaged and if the sensor goes...
  22. So throwing a type 1 over-rev...I have never had an issue with blowing a MAF as a result of this (been on a stock MAF since tuned by UMW in 2006). I did blow several using the EVOMs air box however.
