  1. I know what you mean... Mine's Atlas Grey Metallic. I agree with djantlive... I just take her around the block, maybe a 3 minute drive. This lets all the water drain out of the tail lights, door sills, mirrors, and spoiler... Not to mention cleans off that initial rust/pad dirt from the brakes. Then I do a once over with the sheep skin and paper towel the wheels to get the new brake crud off them.
  2. Last summer the CD player on my 05 C2S took the disk, refused to play it, then refused to eject it! I turned the car on and off a few times and then it decided to work again. It hasn't happened since, I thought it might have been that specific disk.
  3. I just added the 5mm set this weekend. Really easy to do... Here's my before and after...
  4. Don't worry about it... They will be able to bring it back to new fast and cheap. I did the same to one of my wheels on a fast sweeping turn... Took 48 hours and cost only $125. All they had to do was some aggressive polishing and a re-paint.
  5. Thanks! My car was already equipped with them... They did however give me the option to swap with other Carreras they had in stock.
  6. When I bought my C2S I really wanted the stock wheels. I thought they looked more aggressive... But when I saw my car with the Sport Designs, I never looked back. They are really difficult to clean, I give them a good 20 to 30 minutes when I wash my car. I just like to be unique and out of all the 997s I've come across I'm the only one with Sport Designs. In addition, I read that they're a little lighter than stock.
  7. Here it is... http://www.porsche.com/all/originmotorsport/usa.aspx
  8. ...I don't know, it still has all the original Porsche packing labels on it. Maybe it came across on a skid and was never meant to be shipped alone. My argument right now is how hard did they have to hit it to create dents in the corners.?. The whole thing just annoys me, I paid a couple grand for a new PSE, not a damaged one. :censored:
  9. It was shipped from Sarasota, Florida to Montreal, Quebec. And it arrived like this...
  10. I hate UPS. I have spent the past three weeks waiting for an update on my claim. After I made another call to customer service they sent me a fax claiming "insufficent packing"... What a load, how rough did they have to be to put 4 dents in two steel mufflers.?. It's not like I was receiving china. I hate UPS. In addition, I've never seen a cut-away view of the PSE. Would the denting effect the internal volume? Or is there an inner chamber?
  11. I just received this this morning... 0-60 in 3.4 seconds... with an automatic... http://www.porsche.com/all/masterwerk/usa.aspx
  12. I agree, they are outrageous... $87.00 just to figure out how much tax to charge me. ...my office uses UPS every day, I think I might try a claim, I would prefer to have a un-damaged PSE and I do have at least two more months until I take the car out of storage. What a hassle!
  13. Thanks Loren... That really takes a load off. I shook both of them after reading your reply, no rattles.
  14. Hey everyone. I ordered the PSE system for my C2S and discovered four possible problems when I opened the UPS beaten box... There are three dents on one muffler and one dent on the other. Please take a look at the attached pics, any opinions on if this could effect sound or performance.?. Thanks.
  15. ...as far as I remember from when I installed my short shift kit, the spring is there to keep the shift cables secured into the shifter linkage. You pull the spring and a ring back to remove or adjust the cables... Kind of a "quick disconnect"... Looking at the pictures I don't see an advantage with the metal versions. It looks like the is no functional difference. I didn't notice any flex in the plastic parts when I had them in my hands.
  16. Reading up on all your entries about PSE is pushing me VERY close to ordering it for my C2S for when it comes out of storage in the spring! I do have a few questions that I hope you guys can help with... How long should the installation take for a car with Sport Chrono? Having Sport Chrono means my "Sport" button controls it, right? I noticed the tips are different sizes, large on the outside and smaller on the inside... How do the sized relate to the stock Carrera S tips? Would the smaller ones on the PSE be the same diameter as the stock? ...and finally, having never heard a PSE equipped 911, are you all happy with it? Thanks!
  17. Does anyone have any pointers on what should be done? With my M3, I used to plug in a battery maintainer and add air pressure to the tires to keep them from getting flat spots... Should I do the same for the Carrera S? Or should I put it on jacks? She's going in next week for the "yearly" service and storage is coming up soon...
  18. If you're over 5'3" then your head will have to be tilted towards the middle of the car. The only way to fit your legs are if they're spread and wedged on either side of the front seat. I'm a little over 6'1" and I can shoe horn myself in but only if I spread my legs, pull my knees up to my chest and lean completely over the seat next to me. They're really only there cause old man Porsche wanted a 2 + 2 sports car...
  19. My S does it a little too... Mostly when I just get going in the morning when the gearbox is still cold. It should get better after a few minutes of driving. I have the short shift option now so that also makes it a little stiff due to the decrease in leverage. I just wiggle the shifter in neutral a couple times and try again, usually goes in the second time no problem. ...I think it's normal.
  20. ...well after seeing that I'm glad I bought a Carrera S with the Sport Chrono!
  21. Thanks for the link! I have the OEM version so by the looks of it; I think it might be relatively easy. Is it really difficult to remove the console without damaging? muranomike, I tried the shifter on another 997 at the dealer before ordering this one... Day and night!
  22. I was just wondering if there were any instructions on removing the stock shifter and replacing it with the short shift kit? I was going to get the dealer to install it, but if it's fairly easy I'm sure I can do it myself...
