  1. Should add that only driver and passanger side vents are what I need help with. Thank you
  2. Searched forum for install of A/C Vents, found nothing. Can anyone tell me if it is as straight forward as removing the side screws on each side? Thank you
  3. I am considering a "cold air" intake or aftermarket intake box. Looked at suncoast's "evo" and others. My car is "flashed", has exhaust all else is stock. Suncoasts is $750 plus, plus and others are similar. Anyone have a suggestion on this upgrade including results if you have one. Always worried about creating a "code" situation with MAF. Just curious if anyone found this to be a good upgrade or waste of money. Thanks.
  4. ....And I proably havent Are my remedial interests boring you?
  5. Can you buy a warranty for your used porsche. Mine is 2001, i have looked on line and contacted a few companies but they all only cover Boxster or other models. I havent found a company that will help me, my car isnt CPO, i dont know if I can get it CPO'd after the fact or not. Anyone direct me to a source that would provide mechanical warranty at this stage in my cars life? it has 23k miles on it. :thankyou:
  6. Maurice, what is "lateral run out" mean? never heard that term and I am in process of putting new rotors on front of my car and want to know what this is if i have issues. thanks.
  7. I agree with Wross, aftermarket headers arent gonna produce. If you look at side by side, which I had oppurutunity to do prior to buying, stock headers look similar and more durable. You can get them ported, but I wouldnt even suggest that so much. If you like the look, get them cleaned, polished or powder coated ceramic. Put on cats 100/200 cell and muffler. Exhaust is very easy on a lift and not real difficult to do on your back.
  8. If I remove the front differental am I lookig at massive codes/cells going off on my car? i would like to see what its like. I also had a 930 few years back prior to this car, it was fine to control. I dont track my car, just like the idea of 2 WD.
  9. Is it a expensive propsition to change from 4 to 2 WD? I am seeing more AWD owners in local club listings that have done this. they claim more horsepower in their cars, which isnt my motivation. Anyone share the benfits or the cons outside of expense? Thanks :thankyou:
  10. Anyone available to give me some additional information? found Steering wheel I would like to add to 01 996 TT. Momo. Distributor of wheel claims it bolts directly to stock column, might need spacers? I thought I would need a adapter hub to install. Also, plan on NOT using the air bag with this wheel. Anyone have any experience with NOT using air bag with aftermarket wheel and or any problems that will surface from disconnecting this important life saving device? looked at all aftermarket sites and cant any technical questions answered by any of them. thanks.
  11. Is this a part that goes into ashtray or do I have buy entire console? Can someone tell me where to find this part? thanks
  12. good question. I see listed MY and year? Does that mean may? what does that mean? and why does it get listed so often?
  13. I think i am with you. I am gonna go with stock rotors and be safe. Thanks.
  14. Any thoughts on front brake (rotors) other than stock? Its time to replace my rotors and looked at suncoast and others. Not upgrading, keeping them stock but was intrested in options other than stock rotors that would work with stock calipers? Maybe something better that isnt extra costly over stock rotors? Thanks
  15. I was going to add that I went through the fix process for my stock rams. Did it myself with help of Tech articles on this site. It was involved, but worth savings. Later I found rams on ebay for under 200 with warranties I would consider buying if I had to do rebuild process again. Parts are out there if you dont want to do the work on worn parts.
  16. I am currently putting a GT-2 wing on my 01 TT I looked at Misha and found a man in So Cal that had some good reviews, spoke with him a lot and his customers. I am having it preped and painted (seal grey) It was a little rougher than I expected but body work has never been my thing. It was reasonable and I the painter I use is great. It fits nice so far, but that is the body guys doing. PM me and i will send you contact info and price I paid.
  17. I asked the same question regarding white. He claims Porsche uses a base coat over primer and they are different. He seems to be researching it on his own.
  18. This was happening before I flashed my car. I have new plugs in car and I think it just needs to have Idle adjusted or maybe a true service. Car runs perfect to me, I have essentially done the 30k service in stages in last 1000 miles. Oil,plugs, brake bleed, diff fluid and some upgrades to hoses,dv's,computer, intake. I can live with it and actually I dont know if a 30k service for my car includes more or less than what I have done. Can you manually adjust the idle?
  19. same for me, seat back is what is shaking. Bolts are tight. I thought maybe it was ruff idle or some drive train mounting point broken. I think it is just the car.
  20. I have 19 HRE on my 01. They make the car!! I have a "row" suspension- european sport that lowered similar to H&R, I dont have any reliability problems. !9" tires are more expensive but I have hit a pot hole or two with stock 18's and now with 19's for the last 4 years and I get the same ache in my stomach with both
  21. I drove my car for almost a year without replacing accumulator, no damage was done. I was busy and didnt get to it and it was a job I wanted to do myself. I know the feeling your describing, I had became use to the "heavier" clutch feeling and when I change out accumulator it felt so soft I stalled or lurched the my car 6-8 times
  22. thnaks Roadrunner & Loren I found the color code for seal grey prior to post, under the hood I cant find any info with paint codes on it however. My car is orignal so not concerned that info was removed from body damage etc. Where would I look exactly to find the additonal codes. Apparently my car could have a white base coat and painter wants to be sure so to match to Porshce standards. Thanks.
  23. I am insatlling a GT-2 wing on car, having is prepped and painted. Painter asked me to find out what base coat of car is so to match with new part. My car is Seal Grey Metallic 2001 Anyone know by chance? Thanks
