  1. I am considering a suspension upgrade to my 2000 Boxster S with 18” rims and less than 20K miles. I feel that the stock struts are a little soft on rebound and give me an uneasy feeling when the car gets un-weighted. If I upgrade to Bilstein HD struts will it improve handling without degrading the ride significantly? I have searched several of the boards without getting an answer. Thanks for your help. Rich in CT
  2. I put a B&M in my 99. The shift was short and not at all notchy. I also installed Schnell in my 2000 S. The shifting was notchy both before and after the installation. The shorter shifting only seemed to agravate the existing problem. I believe that it is improving with age but I think an adjustment is needed. Rich in CT
  3. Thanks for the link. I found these guys, anyone ever try these guys out? http://www.precisionporsche.com/boxkit.html Thanks! Did you try them? RichS
  4. Here are the instructions (edit - I have removed the PDF as it was corrupt - Loren)
  5. At the TSBL meet we pulled the screens out with long nose plyers. We used a towel to cover the surrounding area. The screen popped out without any problem and did not spray blake fluid around. :D Rich
  6. What year S muffler was it and which tubes did you remove? Got any pictures? Thanks, Rich
  7. Thank You. That will be useful when I find out what the modifcation is. Rich
  8. I have read that Jeff Kordia is modifying stock Boxster mufflers to improve sound and maybe performance. It's called Tech-EFX I think. Does anyone know how to contact him? Thanks, Rich 2000 S
  9. Lee, Take a look at www.properautocare.com I just did my '00 S with the line of Menzerna products and I'm very satisfied. My black finish is now near perfect and I can now keep it that way. I did invest in a Porter Cable 7424 polisher which makes the job easy. Good Luck, Rich
  10. I just changed the lub in my '00 S. I put in a little over 2.5 Quarts of Mobil 1 75-W90. The manual says to fill to within 11 mm of the fill hole with the car level. The Mobil 1 made a noticeable difference in shifting. Much smoother especially 3rd to 4th. :clapping: Rich
  11. I put an S muffler on my '99 and was very happy with the look and sound. It was just a little deeper in sound and not much louder. I had to buy the upper bracket for the S muffler because the mounting method had been changed over the years. I did the installation myself in about 2 hours without removing the rear bumper. Removing the bumper would have made it easier. Good Luck, Rich
  12. I installed the PNP speakers and a 6 channel 996 amp. The results are excellent. Much fuller sound and controllable bass. I highly recommend this approach.
