  1. hi the reservoir is located in the offside wheel well, behind the arch liner David
  2. update couldn't ge the parts either from VAG or Porsche so I made them... 6mm alloy woked fine !
  3. you sure it's a clubsport ? reason I ask is tht the CS version doesn't have the door airbags Rear speakers are not conencted - std Fire extinguisher fitted - by owner battery kiil switches std trip computer - std aerial - std front cage - supplied, but fitted by dealer - should bolt into floor as should rear cage only drivers harness was supplied David
  4. Hi Can anyone tell me if the following parts are available (H, I,K & L), if so the part numbers (either VW or Porsche) ? Thanks David
  5. it all comes from a very well evolved GT race engine ! and yes, it is addictive !! David
  6. yes, the wiper blade is the same as used on the Touareg it even has both Porsche part numbers and VW part numbers on it !
  7. I get typicall 16-17mpg around town, 20 mpg motorway (freeway) IF I stick to less than 75mph. It drops quickly if I go much above this, but doesn't go below 17. I have seen 30mpg on a very gentle (and boring ) run ! David 04 Cayenne Turbo MK1 GT3 ClubSport
  8. strange - is it the same box as per the Turbo ? If it is, the oil is changed as per service schedules at 96K miles, I think
  9. Hi - as a (very) new Cayenne Turbo owner I wonder if any of you could answer the following question ? Is it possible to retrofit cornering headlights to a MY04 Cayenne Turbo ? If so, is it just the headlights or are there other parts needed (i.e. control module, wiring harness) Thanks ! David Cayenne Turbo GT3 Mk1 CS
  10. I find that on track use, sport is perfectly matched to the cars dynamics. You can rotate the rear better on corner entry with the sport setting, as it allows this to happen before saving your *** if you nail it too early or too hard !
  11. Sport also allows a more 'relaxed' PSM intervention, i.e. you can achieve about a 45 degree slip angle before it cust in to straighten you up !
  12. after screw removal - pull hard ! helps to start at the edges and work your way into the centre, then go to the otherside. It's very flexible, so it's useful to have one person hold the loose end whilst you remove the other. it took three of us in my local dealership to remove the lower lip on mine, and that was with the car on a lift to get access. It was very tight - previous car was not so tight for some reason. Came off OK eventually tho ! David
  13. probably won't help you, but I've driven about 10 997's now, over the past two years (two of which were mine !), and all felt different under braking ! If you drive a lot of highway miles, and don't brake that hard really, then you could have glazed the pads / rotors. Try some agressive stops from high speed & see if it helps. Fluid shouldn't have gone off that quick, unless there is an issue elsewhere. again, with that mileage & driving, pad / rotor wear should not be an issue either. I have a new 997s at the moment, that I've just tracked for the first time, and the brakes now feel different post track - but they did get some abuse ! good luck & let us know how you get on David
  14. I'd also be interested in what you find - didn't want to lose PASM when I ordered the new car, but would love a LSD for trackdays.
  15. yes, they are the same; I don't know about US$ price (you can check on the retail price search on here ) but I paid about £60 The aerokit part is painted, the GT3 part is not. David
  16. Hi all - as per title - anyone know the part number for the RS front lower lip ? I know the std GT3 / Aerokit part is 997.595.983.92 but I can't find th part number for the RS lip Thanks David
  17. Thanks Richard; I may not be going down this route afterall - I'm probably going to be speccing a new car now, so I'll get just what I need ! David
  18. thanks for the replies; I did retrofit the rain sensor to my 996 a couple of years ago - as you say Richard in our climate it is a real advantage. Was quite easy to install too. I spoke with an OPC yesterday who confirmed that Porsche do not sell a retrofit kit for the 997. But, as I am stubborn, I'll see if I can find a way around it ! No, it's not a deal breaker - I was spoilt as my previous (now deceased) 997s had virtually every option in the book ! If anyone comes up with a bright idea on this please let me know ! Thanks David
  19. Hi all; looking at buying a 3 month old C2S that doesnt have a rain sensor & auto dim rear view mirror fitted; my question is can this be retrofitted ? I fitted one to my 996 with no problems at all Thanks David
  20. following on from this, does anyone know how well the winter tyres fare in standing water ? I can tell you that brand new Mich PS2's dont fare well.... David
  21. I was told by a very well respected Michelin rep on a Porsche GB track day to go for the 305 rears in this application (997s) - so I did ! I did however make sure that I changed all 4 tyres for the same brand, as this I would suspect caused the greatest difference in your handling. Only difference I noticed was a slight squirm under high lateral loads, until the tyre tread blocks settled in to a pattern. Super grip now, & no sign of understeer yet. David
