  1. I have seen a few stereo sites that advertise about activating/turning on the video input in the Cayenne video screen. That way one can install and play TV or DVDs thru the existing screen in their Cayenne or (997 which uses the same screen). Does anyone know how to activate or turn on the screen for video input?
  2. Thanks very much but is this at the front or the back of the car? :( You need to get the PET ( Porsche parts program and data) and the 986 workshop manuals...it covers all the part locations and repairs.
  3. I know the Porsche part number for the front A/C blower fan unit but I think there is a Bosch or Porsche part number for just the motor. I got a price of $285 for the complete blower fan but I am that just the motor would be much less. I have heard the motor is about $85.00
  4. If you need the service workshop manuals send me an email or private message.
  5. I have the wiring diagrams for the 2005 997 and 987 if that is any help. I have noticed that the manuals have more than doubled since I got my sets for the 997 and 987. Perhaps a few other members that are interested in trying to maintain a current set could email me and we can see what we can do.
  6. If you are looking for the workshop manuals, OBDII manuals, TSBs, techniks, wiring diagrams for every year or more service information on the 986 or any Porsche let me know by PM or email. One note on that workshopUK site... their 986 manuals are not updated past 2000,and every page is marked with the website across it, making the pages more difficult to read.
  7. The main problem is that some of the "blue stuff" that people use for washer fluid can and does harm the paint and the finish of your car. Try straight water and if you need the additives then avoid the cheapest fluid and try a better one at half strenght to avoid the risk of damage to the finish on your car.
  8. THe last USA update or version for the PST2 is version 24 for the PST2 and yes it will work on the Carrera GT but it won't work on a 997. Email me for a little more information if you are interested.
  9. I found a neat program that puts the 987 Chrono on your computer desktop. It displays the time and temp. I am also working on getting the workshop manuals to add to the 987 Basic Workshop manuals and 2005 wiring diagrams I have in electronic format. If you are interested email me or PM me Thank you
  10. I have done some work on my 964 and I agree that the workshop manuals are not complete. However I have found that by using the dealer PET which has exploded views of every system, shows every part where it goes, how it comes apart and details every model, every year, and every version ( as opposed to the PDF version that deletes alot) it is easy. If you want the dealer PET email me..
  11. I found that Porsche has posted the 2005 PDF PET online. http://content3.us.porsche.com/prod/servic...USA_KATALOG.PDF http://content3.us.porsche.com/prod/servic...USA_KATALOG.PDF If anyone would like the current dealer PET I have update 190 , plus every Porsche workshop manual and...... Please email or private message me for information on the manuals, PET or other service information.
  12. The problem is created by Porsche. They put a price of about $2,000.00 for the 986 workshop manuals with wiring diagrams. It is the same price if you spend about 20 minutes to download them from the Porsche tech website. And they refuse to make the dealer version PET available so we can not get complete parts information on our cars. We still have to buy the parts from Porsche, and if we keep our cars running well it looks better for Porsche. BTW my 986 manuals have all the updates thru 12/2004 unlike those others that have poor outdated versions. I don't copy protect them, put website watermarks across everypage and I keep adding new and updated information to them. I also have the complete OBDII manuals for the 986 and the Diagnostic manuals.
  13. Just thought I would mention that I got the 2005 997 wiring diagrams today and have added them to the workshop manuals and the 997 and 997S Techniks. If you are interested email or PM me. Thank you
  14. Check these videos out by a TV show from England called Top Gear that now shows in the US on Discovery. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2...37242&q=porsche and a good Porsche bashing here... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=83...92820&q=porsche
  15. I just thought I would mention that I just found the Porsche 965 ( 3.3L and 3.6L) manuals and have archived them to PDF. If you need information let me know..
  16. I have the complete collection of Porsche workshop manuals on CD from the 356 up to the 997, 987 and Carrera GT. Ofcourse that includes the 72-83 911 manuals, about 200 TSBs for the same model, and more..
  17. I thought I would mention that I have the 997 workshop manuals and PET update 190. If you are interested let me know....
  18. I have the codes for the OBDII 7.8 as well as the complete OBDII 7.8 manual....
  19. I have the wiring diagrams for the 2005 996TT. Email me if you still need them...
  20. Thank you for your remarks. I would be happy to assist others with the service information we all need to repair, maintain, service and just know more about our Porsche cars.
  21. Yes the OBDII manual is very detailed. It is just under 700 pages and not only lists each code but has detailed information on possible causes, how to check which problem is causing that specific code and how to fix and reset the car.
  22. I have the 997 workshop manuals so if you need any service information let me know thru PM or email...
  23. I have the Porsche workshop manuals on the Carrera GT plus the OBDII manuals and more. What a machine!!! If you need service information let me know thru email....
