  1. From the vin the car is a 1996 model year aug from 95 to july 96 no S on the engine cover! tiptronic s indicates it has steering whee shift buttons.
  2. The early heat exchangers were handed left and right and had the outlet pipe at the rear round pipe oval 2 bolt flange. The later 74 on ones were not handed the outlet is at the left hand front oval ish pipe with 3 bolt flange, as for leaks if the heat exchanger case looks ok they should be ok they rust from the outside so if they look rough they are!   3. Hi I think there has been a recall on some 997 fuel pumps! check with Porsche!
  4. Hi there is no fuel cutoff switch, but there is a rocker type switch to select the left or right door mirror adjustment also switches near the instruments for rear wiper and rear wiper. Regards Berny.
  5. If you started the engine with the car on stands the wheels or hubs would most likely have turned at diffent speeds! this would trigger the ABS light. As Loren has said do a test drive should clear quite quickley

    Rattle at idle

    You can often get gear box chatter on tickover push the clutch down and see if the noise changes. Regards Berny.
  7. Hi If you drill a small hole in the damper and then screw in a self taping screw you can use the head of the screw to pry the damper out. hope this helps. Berny
  8. DME is in the fuse box under the hood the new one has a 993 part no I think the older ones had a 944 or 928 no Regards Berny.
  9. Hi If you drive the car it should put the light out if all is ok!
  10. The blowers were fitted on sc and 3.2 engines I diden't think the 3.2 came out till 84. The early cars did not have the electric blowers so no where to conect! just needs a ignition controld feed. Berny.
  11. Silly question but have you checked the wheels are tight!
  12. The rear heat shelds are held on with fast turn bolts and clips and often fall off over time new ones are not very costly and easy to change. Berny.
  13. Hi Can anyone tell me the fuse number for the front trunk light? there is no live feed to the micro switch. Thanks 2005 987.

  16. I have never done one in the car! If you drop the engine and remove the rear tinware its easy to do the rubber gaskets are the same part no for both sides now! you just put one on upside down. you will also nead the rubber seals that go under the cuped washers and put a little instant gasket on the threds to stop the oil leaking up the thred. hope this helps.   17. Hi the 964 & 965 bumpers are interchangable.
  18. Hi the leak is not power steering fluid! no power steering on 911 until 1989. Brakes will need strip down and rebuld. I have 2 early cars enjoy. Berny.
  19. Could be the heat shelds on the rear exhaust loose! just held on by twist clips the clips often fall off.
