  1. Welcome to the club. If you haven't already you'll sprain your arm patting your back after hitting the TSBs and the Contributing Members Forum! :renntech:
  2. I like P21S products. Especially their wheel cleaner, which now comes in a thick gel for really dirty wheels. I use Porsche top cleaner treatment, but Raggtop is getting a lot of good buzz in this and other forums. Try this site. http://www.carcareonline.com/ There are plenty of others. Just no automatic car washes! And have fun with your car!
  3. This was recently posted on R&T's web site after appearing in the April hardcopy issue. Includes some video with audio. http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?se...article_id=3377
  4. http://www.sportscarmarket.com/articles/archives/610
  5. :welcome: Great looking car. UR right to drive first, post later.
  6. Joee is right about the Bentley manual. Order it today from Amazon. You'll thank yerself. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...=bentley+amazon
  7. I'm pretty sure there is a TSB, so check there. I know there is one for 986. PM me if you can't find it.
  8. :welcome: This is a nice place. :renntech:
  9. Cayenne fans should like this. I might have just become one. :D http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage
  10. Looks as if the Cayman has hit the Box some, Box S more and also the base 911. Trying to analyze the other 911 models made my head hurt. I suppose the total numbers are the good news.
  11. Sooooo, how do you think we do? http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?se...article_id=1949
  12. Wardhog is right about local regulations. They check the add-on tints here in NC every year with vehicle inspection and charge you extra for it. Dark windows make the cops nervous if (when?) they pull you over.
  13. If the key is on and the fuse is good, you are going to have to dig into the area behind the plug (search the forum, there are how-to's) and use a tester light or ohm meter/multimeter to trace back to the short or disconnect. Good luck!
  14. I cover mine in my basement garage and don't feel at all like an idiot. I welcome every bit of protection in the hostile beach environment. Same for hostile apartment environ! Love the junker idea. Reminds me of an old commercial where the car cover is painted like a junker for a car parked on mean streets.
  15. And a pressie point of view: http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...E/60223010/1061 :renntech:
  16. hjk3, There is a telephone connector wire behind the batwing in the center of the dash. It has a pin 2 (green/black) wire that is switched. You can tap into it or order the cable from Becker (as I did) or presumably from Porsche. The cable also has a ground and an unswitched wire. Don't believe ROW cars have the tp cable.
  17. Ariel, Plugs @ 49.95/set from Suncoast. http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/merchant...y_Code=986maint Also recommend the non-smoking kit to replace the ashtray. About $50. Doesn't leak cash or encourage smoking! Of course you may have a golden goose that will susidize your gasoline purchases! I have a similar cash cow in my wife's dirty clothes pockets - wadded up US currency!!!!! :welcome: And enjoy your car
  18. I guess we all get that feeling of dread when we walk away and leave our cars exposed to the :censored: public nuisances of the world. Sorry about your experience, but it makes me glad to live in a concealed carry state. Man, wouldn't you like too catch the bum(s) in the act! Hope everything get fixed properly. My personal fear is the dreaded keying or door ding.
  19. This link is interesting for Boxster Tracksters. :clapping: http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti.../THISWEEKSISSUE There is also a nice Denise McCluggage piece in the hardcopy I haven't found online.
  20. It has been covered by Loren. Just search on Durametric.
  21. Don't you just love it when ya can fix someting AND do it without cubic cash. :clapping:
