  1. Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF does have a Flashing Point of 420 so it makes me wonder a little when comparing it to Toyota's 370. Any thoughts? 2. I used to have an '84 928 I owned for 17 years and recently sold which has a Mercedes Benz tranny. I'll never forget many moons ago getting a price at the Porsche dealer for $70 bucks for the filter and gasket and going to the Mercedes dealer and buying it for $14. That's another example of Porsche marking up stuff.
  3. Hello to all. I'm working on my 04 Cayenne S. Just changed the front and rear diff's fluid with LUCAS 75 W90. For the Transfer Case I was considering 3 oils.. Bilstein 14738 which has a Flash Point of 190C and ZF 5 which does it at 220. To me and thanks to the great info. from Clarksongli it looks like the Toyota Type 4 is the winner with a Flash Point of 370C unless I'm measuring wrong. Called the Dealer in Tampa where I live and they want $75 bucks for a quart and yes $6 bucks at the Toyota dealer.
  4. I'm going to try a few things tomorrow including removing the little harness from the cradle (white one) and the other end (Black) and cleaning all female and male connectors well with a good electronic cleaner plus I'll put some dielectric grease on them. I think I will shave off the clips that hold the white connector, place it firmly on the headlight bucket and then try to slide it back into the little cradle it came out of. This way I know I'll have a good connection on the headlight and by letting the white plug move freely in it's little cradle, the plug itself won't dictate to the headlight where to line up instead the headlight will tell the plug where to sit and behave. Hopefully I'll find the room to stick my hand in there and do all this, plus the wires form the HID hit are also living around there so the wire "traffic" will sort of be in the way but we'll see... I'll keep you posted but you're welcome to call me anytime.
