  1. I was asking just because i have a road trip 2000 km now. 3 people. Cant use the Z. Need the space in the cayenne. I was thinking to change for pure water if it would help to keep the temp down. Will see. Anyway a very uncomfortable feeling with the car now.
  2. Is there a general answer what keeps coolant temp more low:! Water or coolent fluid?
  3. Ok. Thank you for pointing this out. Sad point here is that the intake manifold was off because of different reasons so many times. Shop should have done is long time ago
  4. Sorry forgot: the vans are able to bring the temp down to middle but you need to rev a little bit
  5. During normal driving its in the middle. Which is 80 Celsius . When i stay somewhere in the traffic jam temp going direction 100 and i would say then the van is kicking in. While ven working the temp stay and going very slowly back to the middle. When its hot outside even with the van working the temp is at 100. this happens only when the car stay or running up some steep hills. during normal driving i dont have any problems. All above describes the situation with AC off. If i am running the AC the situation is not that bad but in a traffic jam i am hitting 100 sooner or later.
  6. I see the pulley turning and i dont feel noises from there. So i believe its working. The belt is new too
  7. Good Morning. Looks like we have the worst cars here. Everything what can happen, is happening. I hope you are not right with the head gasket. Onother headache. - smell of petrol i dont feel in the expansion tank - loss of water i dont have - waterpump new - thermostat is old i guess if the gasket is blown, the pressurized system should not hold vacuum. But during my test yesterday it did. acctually a good investment this stuff. 60 euro at ebay Sample video:
  8. Thank you JFP for speedy answer. I was thinking to get the air pockets out a lot more water has to come out. Water pump is new. Interesting thing is if car is idling at 500 stationary temp is climbing. As soon as i push the acellerator its going down to middle. oh what a ..... every day some other kind of problem
  9. Because i feel very uncomfortable with my high coolant temp i give it a try and wanted to refill it with a vacuum system. The only way to prevent air pockets. First of all its a pain to come to this drain plug. Had to disconnect a lot which was in the way. First surprise: when i open the blue drain plug in the radiator only 5 liters came out, maybe even only 4. what did i wrong? after i use the vacuum equipment to take out all air from the system. Cant do much wrong here. Refilling with coolant again. Finish! same **** like before. When car running at low idle/ 500 rpm. temperature is going higher and higher. Climbing more to 100 grad celsius which is 200 / 210 fahrenheit. what could be wrong?
  10. I believe the fuse trick only can show you if the fuel pumps are still alive. But in this way you cant find pit if they are working proper
  11. this was my story years ago. End of the story, the shop changed only ONE fuel pump. After they replaced both the problem was gone.
  12. I dont know if this is right but i guess the secondary pump is not delivering fuel to our engines. It just pump the fuel to the other side of the tank. So i believe the fuel level matters. Second thing to remember. The pumps getting realy hot when working. An almost empty tank doesnt cool the pumps enough and its shorten the fuel pumps life
  13. this was a post from bigbuzuki. i had similar problems like you. That time i changed MAF, O2 Sensors and Fuel pumpsn on my old CS. after run very nice. This is from the publication Porsche Service Technik. Regulation of Fuel Quantity. As a result of the on-demand regulation of fuel flow capacity, fuel heating in the tank is reduced. This is achieved by the DME control module switching on fuel pump 2 only as required, while fuel pump 1 is always activated. With the following switching criteria, fuel pump 2 is additionally switched on to increase flow capacity. At engine start and then 2 seconds run-on (with a hot start 5 seconds run-on). With a calculated fuel consumption of > 50 liters/hour the pump is switched on, and at < 45 liters/hour switched off again. With a fill level of < 10 liters in the tank, it is switched on and with > 15 liters it is switched off again.
  14. Maybe i mention i am a lover of z cars too. Hope thats not a problem here. the older model had frequent behavoir like you describe it. Stalling. No smooth running engine when drving etc. there was a guy who worked a lot to find the reason because no mechanic could help. Find his report here. Maybe its a lot but i found it helpful. http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/hesitation/hesitation.html
  15. Running is bad?! Still did not found the reason? I understand from your posts its only at certain rpm. 2000, 3000, 4000 etc. from where you get this PU tubing? Is there a place in the net?
  16. The membrane is faulty. Yes . Dont know what is the effect but i will replace. I read which problems a faultyPCV systems can cause, i better do it. http://www.agcoauto.com/content/news/p2_articleid/197
  17. I just disconnected the valve to have a look inside. Indeed there are 2 orange membranes . Colour like in the AOS which i checked yesterday. On one membrane is a part missing. Please check the picture. This means replacement?!
  18. Hi Lewis no that isnt metal flakes. Old dry oil i would say. you mentioned the breather valve. I will have a look. How possible to find out if this thing is working or not?
  19. Shouldnt this area look a little bit more oily? if the reason is to seperate oil and air here i was expecting more oil to see. Is the valve which is sitting in front of the Oil/Air seperator a part which can fail too? Any possibility to test this?! Than you
  20. Thankx for your advice. Will try it. I used every day some WD40. Maybe its now soaked and will move more easy. I try on weekend when i have time. Thank you
  21. Thanks a million for your support. The oil/ air seperator i wanted to check already but i found it very difficult to open the cap. I was affraid to break something. Will try it again. One last question about the turbo seal which you mention. Is this a part sitting inside the turbo housing?
