  1. There is no warnimg for the reservoir. Sometimes only if you have to top of water regular its a sign maybe. Turbo alternators are watercooled. Thats why
  2. Hi There is a lot more which can fail. Isnt neccessary that you get stranded but maybe is causing you headache. Just from my experience and what happend to me in the last 5 years with driving different cayennes. Some things you mention already. There are few more to the list. Not only the big plastic coolent tubes can fail, there are some small ones under the intake manifold which get bad after years. Happend to me. You cant continue to drive. Cardan shaft is failing. Usually you feel it and you hear it when trouble is starting. I would check it. Coolent reservoir. Exploision of the reservoir is a problem which happens to many guys here. Water inside the car from glogged sunroof drain holes. Causing strange electrical problems. I had permanent PSM failures which sending the car to limp mode. Possible to drive but slowly. Check the forum for posts " wet floor" Do some checking with your alternator. I had a failing one close to my home. Thanks god. Isnt neccessary all this things will happen to you but be prepared it can be.
  3. lewis......... about the scanning tool try iCarsoft for Porsche. it helped me a lot with scanning and finding codes. Its not durametric of course but for basic things more than enough
  4. Here is the pic. Part no. 5 on the picture down
  5. I have one which is making me trouble sometimes. The panels get stuck here and there and when driving with open roof a little bit faster i didnt work at all after. I needed to close manual with emergency tool. I need to check the wind deflector now. Its not open proper on my old Turbo. I found a helpful document. I made a screen shot and would like to ask what and where is this part no. 5 on the last picture down. Thank you in advance
  6. I dont know how difficult to do this. I read many times here a lot of guys did it as DIY. Will report
  7. I could not solve the problem. Solution bought a hose. 2 m. Connect it to the reservoir in the sunroof. Routing like the original. Just on the dash board i go down passing the fuse panel to the floor. Carpet still wet. Will see how i can route it under the carpet.
  8. Sorry maybe my mistake. We talk about the bank on drivers side. Bank no. 2. Cylinder no. 5 was the first problem. Now on the same bank cylinder no. 7
  9. Old post but would like to refresh. My driver side power window still working but it makes some squeaking noises. Any idea?
  10. Not that i dont trust mechanics but today i checked what they did and surprise surprise. The changed the spark plug gasket and valve cover gasket because i had oil in coil tunnel for cylinder 5. i take away the engine cover and take out all coils. What i found? Oil in coil tunnel number 7. AMATEURS or what should i say. Car is going back to service straight away.
  11. Found answer. O ring must be. Thank you
  12. Stupid question maybe... Do i need a new seal when i am drainibg this oil from this intercooler hose?
  13. You are a very brave and handy person!!! Congrats. The problem would just be how to find the right gasket/ seal
  14. I will try to get access to the MAFs . Thank your for advice how to do. the boost pressure sensor im a cleaning regular. This is always Improving driving and shifting. Looks like i have oil in the air stream. Need further reserch
  15. Thank you for answering. If i try the dipstick or the oil fill cap there is a different idle. The MAF i have to try. Difficult to get them out
  16. I know this was discussed already many times but i cant solve this water problem. My first S stay outside now for 3 years. Engine has a scored cylinder. Thats why no moving. Since i bought my Turbo the old car was moved only a few times for some km. Of course there was always a water problem which i could solve but now... Nothing. I took apart the a pillar trim and the headliner. Could get acces to the hose. Disconnect the hose from the reservoir which is sitting in the sunroof frame. Found a hose with onother green smaller hose inside. This is i didnt know. The green tube was split. Dont think its normal. I used a bowden cable to clean the smaller tube. I can get inside for about 120 cm. Then its stuck. Normal or it should stick out somewhere? I am really dissapointed this cant be solved. Would like ask: The inner green tube has to be completely inside the grey hose or it has to stick outside and ending in the reservoir? How to replace the entire green tube if its closed and cant be cleaned? Any help which can take me out of this is welcome.
  17. Fixed. Gaskets look pretty worn after 10 years. I am wondering if they can break apart and cause even more serious damage if smaller parts going to some oil channels or somewhere else.
  18. Thank you for writing. Will try to get a new vacuum hose. Maybe this will solve the overboost. The valve which you pointed to is already new. If the car is tuned? I dont think so
  19. Reminds me to my constant problems with my CS. The dealer changed parts like hell. Sensors, MAF, throttle body, etc. hundreds if not thousands. In the end i believe it is just a low voltage problem. As soon as i had new batteries the problems dissapeared.
