  1. Loren is correct, but I will had the following, the Porsche approval of 5mm spacers is for stock wheels and tires only. If you were planning on adding aftermarket rims or track tires you may run into additional problems with the SCCA guys.
  2. As far as I understand the unit behaves as it it was indeed a CD Changer. As for enabling a device on the unit prior to install on a CDR23 I am not sure.
  3. Traffic info? I guess I'm one of those without "traffic info"! You have my full attention now! What do you mean? Damon Sorry, it is currently a Europe only feature and does require the addtion of the Porsche Telephone System I believe.
  4. Shouldn't the 2008's come with the most up-to-date version? They no doubt do but I didnt get my copy from a 2008 model. I thought a late 2006 version was better than the 2005 version that britairdog already has. But if soemone has a 2008 UK version - I'm interested in getting a copy too ;) Mike Mine is a 2008... but the dvd is from 2007 FYI... Dont buy the update disc for this car (your orange pumpkin), the map update disc is designed for 'aftermarket' installs. The actual map on the disc is exactly the same as the 05.2007 one that came with your car. If you ask me how I know, I compared the files on the my one against the 'new' one, they are the same in name, size and date-time stamp.
  5. Nick, excellent question! Apparently (per the Porsche dealership Parts Manager) Michelin has a reserve of tires to pull from for these emergency situations. Not for a schmoo like me who just needs new rear rubber in about 2-3K miles. There's your answer, when you really need some find a nail in the road, shouldn't be difficult my car seems to find them without trying ;)
  6. So what would PCNA do if you had a nail in your tire? Give you a loaner for 6-8 weeks? Did they suggest a solution?
  7. No, for example VAG-COM allow connect via K-line and change coding of instrument cluster, as Belt gong on/off, C/F degrees, Ml/Km etc, but codings looks like a figure 00993884, change one sighn will change coding, but not so clear what exactly you change - You should be experienced in this procedure. Meantime this programm usually no connect to PCM via CAN and not allow change codings there (add or remove equipment? country settings, etc.) PS Everybody should check connector pinout before try)) The Porsche OBD-II connector is wired slightly differently I understand.
  8. I'm sorry to have to report that those trays are indeed only for storage and as such are not connected to any electrical device in the car.
  9. All I will say is Porsche bought the remaining inventory so they may still have some in stock to cover customers who fall fowl of a nail or two. FYI the latest Porsche tire guide now lists for the 17" wheel the Conti3. Personally I do not like the Conti2, and what is worse they came on my 2008 LE S. I have had one tire pick up a nail since I bought the car, the tire fitter put a Conti2 XL on the car until I noticed when I picked up the car. It took him a week to find the N rated version. He said the XL was a better tire. He was probably right but I pointed out the Porsche requirement and he sort of understood. I am hoping Porsche drop the 19" in the Conti2, when they do I will be onto customer service pointing out that it wouldn't be right for a customer to have to replace all 4 tires when all he really needed was 1 or at worst 2. We shall see.
  10. I would speak to Porsche customer service, and whilst your on the phone ask them about 19" Conti2. In the UK there is a much worse state with Porsche footing the bill to have customers swap brands on a buy 1 get the other 3 for nothing or providing loaners whilst customers await stock. There is a big shortage in N rated tires in certain sizes.
  11. That is for the 986, whilst similar it is different for the 987
  12. Welcome, It used to be in the owners manual but was removed in 06 by Porsche. However the 05 manual is available for download for contributing members on here: 05 987 Owners Manual The pages you are after are from 185.
  13. You could try a durametric tester and try and reset the codes yourself.
  14. 1. It does not have PASM nor is the option available. I think Porsche played safe as there could be issues with the combination of the Aerokit and PASM ie Damage to the car at parking ramps. 2. No published gain with the PSE, with or without the Sports Chrono option. Never had the car on a dyno yet. 3. The Chrono button changes the throttle maps, PSM limits and yes also the PSE.
  15. There is an update (08.2007) which is detailed in the tech bulletin (TSB 30/07) which is available on here to contributing members. However, the update may require an update to the PCM firmware at a dealer. The PCM Nav disc will be made available so I understand it from around April 2008. This may help (it is from the Porsche Partner Network, it is just about readable when clicked into and viewed at 100%):
  16. Two group buys.... so should I put you on the list for both items young Toolpants?
  17. Its a different exhaust system on the RS60 I beleive , hence its not switchable , and gives more power. Not sure about power but am sure that it has a switch. It is switchable but it is not the same as the PSE (Note the switch)
  18. Its a different exhaust system on the RS60 I beleive , hence its not switchable , and gives more power. Not sure about power but am sure that it has a switch.
  19. You did order the red interior and the red top didn't you.... please tell me you didn't go red with black top or the grey version.
  20. If the Porsche figures are correct no....however they never ran engine figures with the sports exhaust system on the 987 S.
