  1. Loren, Thanks for maintaining this great site.  I was trying to help a guy turn on his OBC using a Durametric Pro.  Unfortunately, I was not able to access the DME.  Do you have a step by step procedure to do so?  I am not a proficient as you with the Porsche Computers.  Its a 2002 Boxster. I think there is a thread he started as well.  JPA described the issues, but not the actual steps. Thanks in advance.  Matt Ken

  2. Yes smoke on start up. Fairly common and I believe it's part of the engine design. Nothing to worry about.
  3. Loren, yes, you trump my Durametric Pro. Nice set of readers! But yes, with this group, there is a great bunch of knowledge available. Offer still up to those who live nearby.
  4. All, Just became a member and would like to offer up my Durametric Professional cable to anyone in the SF Bay Area. Not avaliable for loan, but come to the house and use all you want. Preload your laptop with the most current version of the software and you can data log and record. Not for dealers or service shops looking to make a buck. Just fellow enthusiast's like me. I live on the SF Peninsula, near Burlingame. Email is best. Might be a day or so to get back. Theevilzorg@yahoo.com Best, Matt
  5. +Many for JPFlip as a great reference source. I have not found the turbo to be any more difficult to do maintenance on they any other vehicle I have owned. It has been very reliable for me. Some of the limitations is much of the work is done from the underside, so good ramps, a lift or some other way to get below the car helps much. Pelican parts is a good reliable supplier and they have a wharehouse in the SF Bay area so you usually get your stuff quickly. But you do have to pay Cali sales tax too. BTW, it looks like you live in the Sacto area. I'm on the SF Peninsula and have a D
