  1. Make sure you have the correct hoses for each side. When you do they just fit very well. well the passenger one fits just fine, and the drivers side hose (with the real long hose) is just strange where the line feeds through. I have some coversion work on the front of my car so I may be a little different and thing fit tighter sometimes...
  2. Big thanks to Loren to providing this info! the only area I am having issues is with the drivers side hose. Getting it to wrap around and exactly where it goes back. I can't seem to get the kink out of it :(
  3. i don't know the deminsions, but are you wanting to add it to your car?
  4. yes the arrows do help with the shocks inside the unit. If yoou still ahve the problem I have a changer I am going to sell
  5. Thanks Bruce. I'll be auditioning all the speakers before I buy. I see what you mean about the brackets too. Thanks again. anytime my friend! i you (or anyone else here) ever have a question feel free to contact me via email
  6. Focal makes a great speaker and I would choose it over the Infinity, but it really comes down to what you like the sound of. If I were you I would get a new head unit that offers Sat. radio, MP3 so that way you can hold on to it for a while and not worry about upgrading later. Get one amp for the car such as a 5 channel that will run the dash, rear, and sub. 2 8" woofers in the back behind the seat (JL Audio 8w3 or 8w6) would be great! Make sure you go to a shop that will mount the amp and box the right way. Alot of places will screw the amp down to the car. The shops that do it the right way will make brackets out of steel that will bolt of your cars factory bolt locations and the amp will bolt to the bracket. here are a few photos to give you an idea what I am talking about. Feel free to ask me any other audio questions. I was in the field for over 7 years installing and running shops NOTE: the last 2 shots are a little extreme when using the whole trunk for audio. I did include one 996 picture holding 2 amplifiers
  7. did replacement without dropping motor. Total time took about 15 minutes once I got a tip from a tech at local Porsche dealer. here is the tip, don't use factory clamps. He told me to go buy a pair from local auto parts and the allow you to put the hose in place without the clamps being on the hose.
  8. I have searched and i can't find anything on replacement of this hose. I got it out, but I am having a heck of a time getting it back on. The space is so tight! any suggestions?? Here is a picture for reference for people that do not know what I am talking about. It is the spring looking hose in the middle of the picture :help:
  9. this is an old post, but i was wondering the same thing with amsoil tranny fluid. i am getting ready to use their oil for my oil change i am doing this week. thanks
  10. yes this is back from the dead, but why start a new thread ;) haha Has anyone on this site used Redline prodcuts in the tranny.. I know some race teams use that route just curious on daily cars
  11. my car was built by them, but so far the follow up customer service has not been that great. If you are looking into a chip you should look at the GIAC, great setup and just a flash and it will maximize your other items you installed. I have the uni-chip piggy back currently and I do like it, and you can adjust it via a laptop and DYNO when you do more things...
  12. I checked the price just now and it's over $50.00. check out Sunset Porsche in Oregon... they have incredible deals on all parts.... I mean all factory parts. talk to Bob in parts.. good guy
  13. and I am getting ready to do this soon, now I just need to decide if I want to do it, or have my car audio installer do it for me when we do the new system ;)
  14. that would be pretty cool to check out with a 997 3.8S motor in it. I drove my friends 997 S and it was pretty **** nice!!
  15. so did he do a full 3.8 coversion, or just stroke the motor? any more info on the car.. Is he back to driving it everyday? BTW I do own a TRG built car (RSR carbon fiber fenders, bumpers and all) and it's a driver for the street then the track... but I call it my RSRWNAB
  16. I was looking up the options on my 99 Carerra and it says "CONCAVE HUB CAPE WITH COLOURED ESCUTCHEON what is that exactly? It was option 446. also what I have is option code 236 and it doesn't show up? thanks everyone
