  1. Yes i would say light. Mine is meridian in certain lights you can see a sort of champagne tint to it. I think here in the UK it is a pretty rare colour. sorry color. :renntech:
  2. Thanks loren. Yes i looked at the parts catalogue kind suggestion of R.Hamilton PCGB & saw that. That will mean the coupe with cab springs will not ride as low & will be stiffer 50lb per corner less preload. I think the best thing would be to use the kit i got but buy some new coupe M030 springs. Or be a total idiot & cut small amounts ???? No not a good idea. Will price up some springs. Thanks.
  3. Hi loren they came from he said a 996 C2 cab 2001 My car is a 2001 996 coupe C2 non facelift but 3.6litre. I have fitted H&R springs which lowers the car all round by 30mm & looks great but if you see pictures i posted earlier on here you can see the car is really low. The problem in the UK is there is speed bumps in the road in built up areas & i cannot drive over them without the front turbo bumper scraping underneath. So i bought a M030 to only lower the car by around 15mm. God i can rabbit on but maybe you can see what i am trying to acheive. Is a cab lighter or hevier than a coupe. Thanks for the replies. Steve Leeds Yorkshire Uk & late.
  4. Hi there can anyone tell me the paint dot codes on the front springs for the M030 kit as i just bought the kit second hand on e-bay for a steal. Only trouble is 1 front spring is red & green dot & the other is either grey or white & green. Also the grey is about 20mm higher stood on floor. That matches my standard springs. Remember i am in uk so different from US spec. Any help would be much appreciated from loren & gang. Cheers.
  5. See pictures you need to cut in half & remove 35mm & bond back together. Many more pictures of mods done to the body.
  6. I fit a turbo bumper to my 2001 C2 & had to trim the front crash beam at the ends to clear the large air ducts.
  7. Keep your eye on e-bay there is quite often pairs for sale. I paid £30.00 for a good pair.
  8. Hi Tweety. Yes it is meridian metalic. I love the front end of mine but unfortunately it has to come off. I have lowered the car & here in the uk we have speed bumps in the road. The ones near where i live are quite high & the front centre just touches. So it has to come off,, I have bought a GTR one off e-bay which is just as deep at the sides but rises in the centre, Looks like it may be on e-bay for sale if the new one looks ok. Take care Steve UK :renntech:
  9. Once bid on e-bay for a gemballa rear lid for a 996 turbo. The guy selling it said the reason he was selling it was he sprintted the car here in the uk & with the standard 996 turbo lid he got 192 mph. With the extra downforce of the gemballa lid he was down to 187 mph so he put the standard 1 back on. The gemballa went up for sale. Have you included the 996 clubsport lid i had 1 but sold it. That had a carbon blade fully adjustable for 0 to 55% download. Trouble was too much rear download makes the front light so the road holding suffers.
  10. This is where it gets sticky. The car is a C2 2001 november registered...??? But in the uk the facelift model with different headlights & 3.6 litre motor did not come out till 2002. Mine is a spurious import from ??? with 3.6 litre motor but not upgraded body spec. A bit of a greck. hope you can help. The dash is the old style without the computer display.
  11. So is this why when you do not use the car for a while all the oil runs back to the sump & weeps from the R.M.S.
  12. Thanks LOREN , yes it does bump steer a bit. Was thinking maybe put uprated rear shocks to lesson the effect. Thanks. Which part of the display will show temp when turned on & where can i purchase the interface to turn it on. Many thanks. Steve leeds uk.
  13. Funny just posted 1 on here about this exact mod apart from i added 9mm spacers as well & my car rides good with the H&R,s but the car is not stable in a straight line .. aThinking lowering makes front tow out slightly. Have asked LOREN for his feedack on this. Here,s my pic.
  14. Hi steve UK here. You may have seen my photo,s under heading (body mods) 1 of the mods was to lower the car by 30mm front & rear. The car looks great & the ride not to harsh but the straight line stability is a bit naff. 100% concentration on the wheel to keep it straight. It feels like the front wheels are towing out slightly, great for cornering but not good in straight line. My question to LOREN or any other knowledgable member is by lowering the car does that alter the tracking at all. By the way i bid mark the legs at the top when removed so they went back in same position. Also read on here the other day about the probe in the front bumper being a temperature readout. I don, seem to have a readout anywhere that i know of. I thought it was a temperature sensor for the management system. Thanks for a great site :renntech:
  15. Hi stan. Would like to see the photo,s of your finished car. I thought of altering the arches but didn,t have the nerve. Looks like i am starting again as i have purchased a different front bumper so going to take the turbo 1 off & try this one. It,s called a GTR. from design 911 here in the uk.
  16. Cheers Yan , actually its a dog, Teddy fell off. So did Tax disc
  17. Hi there i have just finished my conversions on my 996 C2. I fit a turbo front bumper & yes the rubber duct is not as big as the opening in the turbo item, but it is as big as it was before. If yours is like mine it utilises mesh front guards instead of the genuine slatted grill. I wondered if mine would suffer from overheating in summer due to bad airflow through the mesh. I posted some pics of my conversion the other week on the general area of the forum.
  18. I once rang a guy who was selling a gemballa rear lid from a turbo 996 as it slowed his top speed down & he told me it would only fit the turbo & the C4s I measured the boot area opening from the measurments he gave me & the C2, C4 was about 3" smaller. Only a thought, but i would always listen to LOREN, he seems to be the top man for info.
  19. Hi Niclas The front bumper is 1 i got from a P.C.G.B member & he told me he had bought it from MASHAW in the USA. It took a bit of cutting of the crash beam behind but the fit is spot on now. The rear is a turbo bumper cut & narrowed. Any info just ask. I have all the photo,s of the whole project from bodywork to exhaust mods.
  20. Well finished the mods at last. Been very busy with my work & only got 4 days over christmas but got the car finished almost & back on the road. See pics. The fit of the modded turbo bumper worked out well & the Geballa lid finished it off. Used some 4S tail ends instead of the tulip ones . Have all the pics of the conversion & how to if anyone interested. But bear with me as 2007 is going to be another hectic year with my business. Cheers.
  21. And when we go to Le-mans they scream the guts out of them for 24 hrs & very few break down. No thats not a high miliage thing but still all other makes have engine troubles apart from the audi
  22. Possibly too many race starts ramming it into 2nd gear over the years has worn the 2nd gear syncro. Causing baulking when trying to change gear, usually starts with getting hard into gear when cold & gets better as car warms up.
  23. Hi there 1 for loren or any other knowledgeable person. Did i spell that right. I have a 2001 C2 with the 3.6 engine, i have altered some standard silencers putting a larger than the sport exhaust by pass in the same place as the pse but using 1" tube. Was going to play around with the filter but decided against it with all the threads on here about MAF problems. I know the exhaust is just going to sound loud without any real performace gain , but would i benefit from having the managment chipped, reprogrammed or should i just be happy with my lot. Cheers.
  24. I know this not very constructive but hit it with a hammer, My dad was ace & once fixed our telly with one. Seriously i have had this happen on a lot of cars, problem is usually 1 of 2 things. 1st the calipers on some cars are floating on pins so to speak so they can follow a cars braking caracter without seizing on. Sometimes dirt or corrosion gets on the pins & prevents movement. Clean & all is well. 2nd thing is the pistons stick in the caliper housing,, Partial seizure. Pull back the rubber boots & look for rust or dirt & remedy. Hope u sort it Cheers, Steve.
