  1. yes you go into the setup and make sure you cdc is not hooked up, then you can enable the aux.
  2. I don't know of a part number for that one but for the smaller lowest spot all you need is the trim ring-
  3. Uh, unless I am mistaken the back of the unit affords the bekker adapter to be inputted and shouldn't be a problem.
  4. Thanks I actually found the same exact specs doing a google search! the diameter equates to within .05" of the 295. As such I don't think it will be that big of a deal running the 285/295 afterall, so long as I keep the traction control off- I read a post about a corvette having such a complaint, but otherwise I don't think it will hurt the lsd or anything. Thanks again!
  5. serious! btw, Anyone know the actual diameter of the spare, and how fast and for how long it's use is actually limited to? Thanks Sean
  6. HI. thanks for the info. the 285 is a bfg kd and the 295 is a ps2. I finally took the car in and had the roll bar installed for free no less by Avio in LA ( my dad is friends with the owner and is having his turbo done by him). In any event it turned out fine. I had the front repainted, roll bar installed, and new windshield put in. However the windshield guy I think forgot to hook up the antanae as there is almost no fm reception! There are a couple of other things, but I am going to Lucent Thurs. after getting my corner balance from Hergesheimer resulted in them setting it so low I am hitting the bumpstops in normal Driving! They further refused to make it right. I am pretty appauled at their behaviour to say the least and will be remitting the cost of Lucent to them
  7. I have the spare but have already mounted the one 295 on the right rear and am curious about the dimater hurting the diff. As I am in SD and need to go to LA, the spare won't work because I believe that you cannot drive over 50 wtih it and I would be using the freeway the entire way. My other tires are waiting for me in la. I didn't initially think it was a big deal and wanted Lucent to do the mounting anyways as the local yokals here aren't very good with the balancing. ( I will have them check the mounting of the right rear when I get up there)
  8. I had a blowout recently where it caused me to replace the right rear. Since I need to replace the other tires as well and certainly must replace the right rear, I wanted to get a set of ps2's. As such I ordered a set of 235/295's. since I am in SD and I want other things done this thursday in LA and need to put a tire on the car, I had the one 295 sent to me. Ok, so now that, that is over, Will it be bad if I were to drive the car with a 285 on the left and a 295 on the right? I have a limited slip diff and that is my main concern. Any issue? I am going to drive the car up to LA, but need I only limit the time driven to that or is it ok to drive around with the car in the meantime? Thanks Sean Anyone??? btw the diameter difference is less than .2 so I wouldn't think it would be a big deal. Please let me know so I can either enjoy my car over the weekend or refrain. Mainly I am worried about my diff.
  9. I would have told them that it was defective from the get go and that it was a refurby and have them send you a new unit. Call them and get the "adapters" they are really not adapters but just the other side of the connectors so you don't have to cut a single wire, even if you want to add an amp they have another weird *** connector that you can cut off the crappy end and viola an adapter for the other connector as well. ( I don't use the amp in the deck) btw the sub out is key :)
  10. you can use the stock rears but need shorter fronts I have the trg ones for the front
  11. I tried to fix it with epoxy and it was ok for a while but broke again about a week later. Just go on ebay and buy whatever visor and then rip the mirror out and put it in your visor- that's what I did.
  12. Also does anyone know what the deal is on a cd update? I heard that there actually was one out, however it was bank like 250????
  13. BTW I made a quasi adapter using Bekker pieces as I run an aftermarket amp and I did not want to tap/cut my harness. All in total there are two harness adapters and it was not a big deal, save that the remote turn on is actually a different wire- contact Bekker for the adapters-
  14. I had the guy who is repainting my car put it in. He did a lot of work on my father's turbo so I got it done for free. I wish I would have taken him up on the favor before I scratched my suede headliner and cracked my windshield :(. I pick up the car on Wednesday. Anyone have suggestions for harnesses?
  15. :censored: So where do I begin? I scratched a spot on the door jam putting it in. Then I ended up cracking my windshield. Lastly I scraped the suede off my suede headliner. NEVER AGAIN, I can't believe people can actually get this to fit. I even had a ratcheting tie down to bring the legs in. I am going to have someone put it in. Biggest mistake ever, and I have done everything else to the car myself without a hitch. No one should try this IMHO. I frankly feel mislead on the ease of the install, and have a lot of damage from trying to do it. :cursing:
  16. the B&B's will not pass the visual because they don't have the carb cert on them fwiw. I am sure they wouldn't affect emissions though.
  17. I might be interested if I am around. I have done a lot of diy's and would be willing to help.:)
  18. micro fiber towels first sweep to get all the loose materials then another pass with 303 or your favorite product with uv treatment- :)P
  19. Is there another make that someone has used effectively? I had the obd-II one and it made my laptop crash over and over enough that I sent it back. thanks.
  20. Ok so I shot out an email for pricing to evo on the group buy in Q's of 5,10,15,20,25 go ahead and post in 6 speed forum to be added to the list, I will handle it regardless of if I get it or not, I am a student on loans http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...6921#post296921
  21. Oh, now I see what you meant. well fWIW, I don't remember offhand how the strut attaches, but on my pss9's and I am sure they are the same, there is that bolt that pinches them into the hub basically. If you loosen this you can actually move the hub down and give you some more room maybe. Also can you turn the strut/wheels to give you more opening? Sorry it's hard to imagine as I tossed the stock stuff a while back and it's in a box at a friends house in CO. :) It is always something huh? at least the part is not in your cycl. head!!
  22. wow, that sounds crazy. Unless I am mistaken, is the problem that you're not using a torx in the center with a ratchet on it set clockwise, and a ratcheting endwrench on the nut turning counterclockwise? I can't say for what mine is because I have trg pieces and didn't put them in, but with most Porche suspension stuff this is the trick-
  23. oh, btw since you said you have rust, don't use sand paper- use a wire brush, and the brake cleaner. There are different brushes start with a brass or softer first then if you reallly need it (doubtful) use a steel one. Clean with brake cleaner and then mask and spray. Take the rotor off the car btw! it is not worth the overspray possiblity, plus I baked mine :)
  24. when I did my brake upgrade 14" stoptechs front, I replaced my rear rotors at the same time. I used packing tape to tape the rotor, and used a vht caliper paint to paint the hub. As mine were new, you might use brake cleaner, (I did this) to get all the crap off it and make sure there is nothing to inhibit adhering. After I did this, from reading on some other forum with great results, I baked it for 30 minutes in the oven. The fumes were terrible even using the exhaust fan and leaving the apt. for a while. The results are amazing though. By curing in the oven like that they are supposedly resisitant to everything now. They look amazing btw-
  25. check alignment and also check the tires, they could be done. I am having the same problem currently.
