  1. I doubt it has anything to do with the change of pads/discs. I think it is just as the tester says, something wrong with your front shock absorber or its module. Just my opinion
  2. Yes I see the arrow now. Very easy actually... Sorry to have bothered for that
  3. I would appreciate your help.... I am having serious rattle from both rear windows. I am 100% sure the rattle is coming from the windows because when a apply some pressure with my hand the noise disappears. I can feel the windows have a little play which I understand is normal, but may be I have to retighten the securing bolts just a little bit and see how it goes. Anyone knows how to get to these bolts ? Do I have to remove the B pillar ??? I hope not ... Anyone had this problem before??? What is the fix?? I really hate that noise, because otherwise the car feels extremely solid and rattle free. Please assist.
  4. That's what I thought, so I don't have an answer as to why I can't get the 1 bar max boost and can't get it into overboost at all. thanks Probably obvious, but wanted to make sure you knew to get the chrono to get overboost, you have to quickly push the accelerator all the way to the floor and you will see a small upward arrow to the right of the boost gauge. That is how you can tell the the overboost is enabled (for 10 seconds). Maybe already knew that, just making sure. DC Arrow ????? What arrow ? Every time you enable "sport" you get an arrow on the boost level indicator??? Please explain because I ve never seen that arrow. My boost level indicator has a scale up to 1.2 bar. (0 0.6 1.2). Usually boost is in between 0.6 and 1.2. Where is that arrow????? Thanks The way the Sport Chrono works....When on....You have to abruptly mash the gas pedal to the floor and you will see an arrow appear to the right side of your center gauge...This lets you know you have engaged the overboost feature. You get 10 sec.'s of overboost with Chrono on. It is a small white up-arrow. DC I cant get this thing displayed.... Questions 1. The arrow is displayed when the turbo boost level indicator is in the digital mode or in the graph mode??? 2. Assuming you have done everything right (sport mode, full throttle etc) the arrow is constantly displayed or just for a few seconds its time you press full throttle 3. Maybe European spec cars dont have this arrow??? Much appreciated HI.. Yes, It will display regardless of what display mode you have. Just have to press the "Chrono" button, and jam the gas all the way, quickly. ( I am assuming you have the Sport Chrono Option?) If not, sorry to confuse you. To the right in the center display. And it does display for just 10 seconds. I attached two images from the Owner's Manual to indicate what we are referring to... Hope that helps. DC Hi + thanks My car is a 997tt 1st gen with sport chrono. 1. Where is the "Chrono" button? ? I dont have such button, only "Sport" 2. I think the images you posted are from Gen 2 Owners manual because it refers to PDK etc

  6. I have done 200km so far. Consumption 21lL/100km 100oct.
  7. Yes I know, reverting shortly with pics. BTW is that a 40 years Anniversary you have ??? Mine was the 0568/1963 number
  8. What do you think? Is it as fast as I indicated? Big difference from what you had eh? Can you stop grinning when the turbos are pumping? :) Congrats and enjoy....Oh and be careful! DC Yes mate, very very fast. The numbers that are indicated in the speedo in very short intervals of full throttle are just unbelievable. I am still getting used to the tiptronic (all my previous cars were manual). I want to keep this car forever. By the way, I feel so reassured having this bulletproof, long tested, race breed engine with DRY SUMP lubrication in there. I like to press my cars hard on daily basis, and I must say that I was holding back when I had my previous car the 40th Anniversary which had the M96.03s motor. I guess I dont have to worry about blowing my engine anymore. I am sure the owners of the new turbo, do not enjoy that peace of mind with the cars. ( at least not yet.... In a few years maybe....) Regards
  9. The last couple of days, I am not getting enough sleep. Maybe because this 997TT in my garage is connecting to my brain via an unidentified secret method Porsche has built in this car. My 40th Anniversary 996 is gone, and a 997TT MY2008 has taken its place.

  11. Your indicator displays psi. For sure. 1 bar = 14.5 psi Regsrds
  12. Thanks for your reply. I have checked the car by my tech, and he suggested that I should go for it. The car has 29,000km and serviced regularly. I have noticed that from brake disks rotor have around 3mm - 4mm wear, and the rear 2-3mm wear. Is it too much for 29,000km or not? By the way, can you chip the car and keep the stock exhaust ? Can you gain 80hp with chip alone and stock exhaust?? Regards
  13. Hi all, I am very close to switch my very good 40th Anniversary 996 with a MY 997 Turbo Tip and i would appreciate some technical info. How much boost should the display indicate at full throttle at 3k, 4k, 5k, 6k rpm??? I understand that boost pressure declines as the rpm rise, but what level of boost should I expect to see at 5k with SC on /off respectively??? I'm planning a test drive tomorrow, and I guess if correct boost levels can be achieved means that turbos/ intercoolers/ hoses/ DV are all in good order. BTW I ve been told there is no comparison in straight line performance between my car and the Turbo. Does it really feel sooooooo much faster?? Thanks in advance
  14. Hi Jay, thanks for the quick reply. Being a previous owner of 40 Anniversary model you comments are valuable. You have just reconfirmed my initial assessment, that in terms of acceleration and straight line performance both cars are alike. I ve always thought that any new car should be noticeable more powerful than the old one.... Update interior design and some additional electronic aids and gadgets are always welcome, but not enough. A new car MUST be feel instantly more powerful than the one it replaces... It should better wait to find a 997.1 with X51 power kit or wait for the 997.2 to come down on price. I will post some pictures of my car soon. Regards Mat
  15. Hi everybody, I would very much appreciate your thoughts and recommendations... I own a 996 2004 model 40 years anniversary model which as you know comes with the x51 power kit fitted as standard. How does my car compare with a 997.1 Carrera S manual in terms of straight line performance ??? I have enjoyed my car for the last 5 years, and i thinking of switching to 997.1 which has a much improved interior and much better handling than the 996. Thank you Mat
