  1. Just buy OEM Porsche pads at Sunset. Fronts are about $328 and rears are $358. They are not that much more than standard pads, $213 and $151 respectively.

  6. Flip, one tip. Loosen the FILL plugs first. To make sure you can re-fill the system. Don't want to have the tranny drained, only to find out you can't break the fill plugs lose. OK, second tip, for free! LOL. You can send your drained trans fluid sample out for a Blackstone UOA.....if you're into that data collection.
  7. Sounds like your rotors are warped. With your cross drilled rotors, look for checks/cracks that are at or very near the rotor's outer edges. Time to replace.

  9. Hey, poop happens, and we know little how you drove & maintained the car. Regardless, sorry this happened to you.
  10. Blackstone does good work. I've been using them for about 7 years. Your report is soooooooo good because your 1,800 miles is probably about 1/2 of the miles they use for the Universal Averages. What 5W40 Mobil are you using? Turbo Deisel?? That's a good oil because of the higher zinc and phosphorus levels vs 0W40. Keep using it or go to the Joe Gibbs DT40 5W40. And keep doing your UOA's. One report (even a good one) won't tell you much. You need more reports and data. Buy in bulk from Blackstone. If you buy in bulk of 6 tests......that average out to about $19 each.
  11. I need to make sure our Tech Team for our local PCA is making this torque change during tech inspection for DE's.
  12. Why? After 8 driving seasons and +56,000 miles I've never cleaned mine. Are you running a non OEM air filter?? Do you have CEL's???
  13. Same torque wrench? All 6 plugs?? Did you use anti seize on the threads??? I say operator error.

  15. The only Mobil 1 product I'd put into a water cooled Porsche is 5W50. Porsche approved, and much better zinc and phosphorus levels.
  16. Hard to answer, not knowing what is already in your system. Assuming it's a Porsche product, I'd stay with a Porsche coolant. You can also buy VW's coolant at a local dealership for less cost. Porsche's coolant is excellent, so stay with that. For topping up the system, just use distilled water until the issue is completely resolved. Mixing unknow coolant is NOT GOOD. You can get interations and gelling. Big problem.
