  1. Guys, I'm thinking of moving to Canada. I noticed whilst I was over there that 911's seem to have sprouted 2 hideous lumps on the back. Are these a legal requirement in Canada or can they be removed? Thanks
  2. I had the ABS and PSM Off lights stay on. Checked and the brake lights were out so I've got a new brake light switch but am having trouble fitting it. My car is a 2001 pre-facelift C4 Manual, no cruise control. The part I removed has codes 996.613.111.01/996.613.113.01/996.613.114.01 The OPC have provided 996.613.111.01/996.613.113.02/996.613.114.01 which I'm told has superceded the old one. The old one fits easily onto the hole and turns 90 degrees, the new one fits into the hole but doesn't seem to go in all the way and will not turn. Has anyone else had this problem? If so any tips anyone? Have I been sold the wrong part perhaps? Thanks. Mike
  3. Denis The wheels are the originals as far as I know - only had the car 16 months (pics taken just after I got it). They have one or two scratches round the edges that's all - amazing after nearly 6 years! Have a trawl through eBay - there's usually something similar on there. Alternatively check out www.porscheshop.co.uk they have a decent looking selection. I think the Park assist came fitted from new. Not exactly pretty is it? Poor for such a high cost car really. Mike
  4. I have the 18" sport design wheels on my 01 C4 - very similar design. As far as I know they are the standard C4 18" size 7.5J x 18 50mm and 10J x 18 65mm. See what you think..........
  5. Thanks guys, guess it had LHD blades installed. I've put the new ones on - we'll see how they go!
  6. I've just bought some new Bosch Super Plus blades for my 01 C4 (pre facelift). Went to fit them and the wipers currently on the car have the spoiler above the arm (pointing to top of screen) but the new ones are the other way around. Which is correct? I don't want to break the blades trying to change the spoilers. :help: Thanks
  7. I had a custom Sub Box built and fitted behind the rear seats on my 996. Contains two 6 x 9" Genesis subs - more than enough bass!
  8. My PZero Rossos N4 are trashed at the rear (8-10000 miles) the fronts still OK for a while. I want to switch the rears to Michelin Pilot Sport N1. Is this likely to cause massive handling issues? I Intend moving all the way to Michelins when the fronts go.
  9. Thanks Guys. Found the hose had come off. Back on now and working fine. Fairly easy to do as well, even for the mechanically incompetent like me!
  10. Had a custom shelf fitted behind the rear seats with two Genesis 6x9" Subs back there - powered from the head unit. Amp in the front luggage compartment powers the door speakers.
  11. Hoses appear connected at the top. Water leaks out of the left wheelarch when I try to wash the screen. Any more advice appreciated.
  12. Help!! My screen washers have stopped working. There is fluid in the reservoir and the motor seems to work. The wipers move and it whirs when you pull the stalk but nothing comes out. Any ideas anyone?
  13. If you get the front's right you may not need to change the rears, they are really just for fill. I've got Focal 165 V2S in the doors with the tweeters where the dash speakers were. I didn't have the upgrade so had custom door builds done. Not sure how big the openings are in the doors with the upgrade??? They sound great but I've got Focal amp and some Genesis subs 6x9"" behind the rear seats too to make the sound meatier. Altogether 1000 times better than the utter crap that was in there originally. A good installer will give advice rather than just sell you stuff - might be worth checking some out, demo'ing the speakers and getting some advice. Mike
  14. I had the same on my 01 C4. Just had a guy round to service the aircon. He found that there was ~1600g of gas in the sysytem - should be about 200-800g. He drained the old gas out and regassed it - seems to work ok now. He told me that often this problem occurs when main dealers service the aircon as they don't always take as much care. Cost me £82. Hopefully worth it.
  15. Thanks Bruce. I'll be auditioning all the speakers before I buy. I see what you mean about the brackets too. Thanks again.
  16. Guys, I need to upgrade the sound in my car. It has just the bog standard factory setup of CDR-22 and 2 dash/2 rear panel speakers (both 4" I think). Any ideas? The more I look at audio sites the more confused I get. Considering Focal 100CV1's. Are they any better than Infinity/JBL/JL etc. Should I upgrade the head unit (I don't like the flashy lights stuff of most HU's), do I need an amp to power the speakers etc. ? Would a small sub help - you know how tight on space it is inside. I don't want anything too obtrusive. All ideas appreciated. Thanks.
  17. I have a creaking noise from the right rear suspension on my 01 C4 Coupe. Anyone else had this problem? Is it expensive?! Thanks :help:
  18. Has to be done by a dealer. The dealer will need the code from the hang tag that should have come with the remote. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get a new key cut? I got a blank Key blade off ebay for £6 from a seller called Autodude. Not had it cut yet though. But at that price its worth a try rather than paying dealer prices!
  19. Anyone know where (North West England) I can get a key blank cut for my C4. All the spare keys were lost by previous owners. Got hold of a fob just need the blade and to get it programmed. Should I buy a cheap blade off ebay - will anyone cut & program this for me? Is it just main dealers who can do this or auto-electrical places? Thanks.
