I don't see a part number for LSD parts for a C2 after 1999. Only the 2004 Anniversary edition has an LSD and the part number is for transmission and LSD. 996.300.020.07 6-speed w/LSD -- MSRP $11,560.88 (does not include installation)

Thanks Loren. Perhaps you can cross check this, but I just got a part number of 996-332-083-00 for the LSD in the '04. They quoted me $5505! and 9 hours to R&R.

MSRP is $5502.93 -- and they quoted you list price.

You might want to check with Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) for a better price...

9 hours sounds a little steep to me.

I would estimate 2 hours actual labor - likely 4 hours total including testing, gear oil, etc.

Sunset quoted me: "4683.00 and a month from Germany for that. Plus shipping out to you." The first quote was from Carlsen, supposedly a respected Porsche dealer in the bayarea.

Most dealers in the bay area give minimum discount of 10% to PCA members.

It looks like Sunset's price much better than that (plus no tax).

I doubt any bay area dealers have one in stock either.

What is the part number/ cost for a limited slip out of a 99 model? Tell me if I am mistaken but can this be installed in an 02 or later 996?
