Hello Everyone,

I'm a total newbie on this site, but am already learning all kinds of great stuff about my beloved 996.

I've got a problem with my PCM2 unit and wondered if anyone had any ideas of anything I could do with it a quick fix before I take the plunge and go to Porsche.

The PCM has basically stopped working, I think it could be a loose connection somewhere as the 'Porsche Crest' screen flashes up for a few seconds at a time before going dead again! During this time, none of the controls on the module work so I can't even turn the bl@@dy thing off!!

Anyway, if anybody has experienced anything similar and has any ideas on a fix, please let me know.

Many Thanks

Duncan

My entire unit had to be replaced when just the Nav was freezing. It sounds like yours it trying to boot and is encountering an error. I suspect they'll have to replace the unit, but you could try a "reboot" by disconnecting the battery. But Be Aware. I've heard the older units need a PCM code to restart. Call your service department 1st.
