Hello there guys...I own a '02 Carrera 2 cabrio and I have some questions to ask...

1)Sometimes during startup there is smoke coming up from the exhausts for about 5 seconds, then dissapear.First time happened when the car was parked on a hillway.Supposing this is normal, are there any ways to eliminate or minimize it?

2)When I step over potholes I hear a ticking metttalic noise from drivers door.I open the door while driving and the noise dissapeared.Probably the noise is coming out of the door lock?Any ideas?

3)When the top is down, rear windows can only stay down!!!This is vary strange,Porsche writes it in owners manual but I cant understund the reason for that...I mean when the hard top is istalled(the foor is as well down)they operate normally. What is the purpose of Porsche doing this?

Thanks for your help guys, keep up the great site...

skan,

the last one is easy. There is a black switch on the middle of the dome lights where the a black hook goes when the top is closed. When the top is down, stick your finger in there and actuate the rear windows. Done deal. I got a small black plug from Autozone (50 cents) and stick it in there when the top is down. That way I can open and close the rear windows without having to put my finger in it.

Thanks a lot...Also another matter is that I am trying to find a way to reverse default ON to default OFF of the PSE...Tried to reverse the black/white valve in the vacuum tube of the PSE kit(as Loren stated in a post) without success...The flaps stayed ON no matter the position of the switch...

As for item #1, I had the exact same problem in our 99 Boxster. The culprit in that case was a bad air injection valve. This runs on cold starts to lean out the mixture. Without this valve operating properly, the mixture on startup is too rich, and for us, created a LOT of smoke.
