Seatbelt Change

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, newbie here. I have an '02 Boxster where I had to replace the drivers side seatbelt. I did find onee from a '99 Boxster that had a 2 pin connector compared to the 4 pin that came out of the car. The switch was successful except for the fact that now the airbag light is illuminated. I changed nothing else. How can I turn this light off? Do I need to find a 4 pin seatbelt like the original to fix the problem? Thanks.

The Passenger side had 2 pin and driver side is 4 pin. Did you notice that your dash doesnt chime anymore even if your belt isnt buckled??? I accidentally replaced my driverside belt also with a passenger side and the 2 missing pins are for the reminder chime when your belt isnt buckled. I think its a nice hack for people that get annoyed by the chime.

The airbag light would turn on because you had to disconnect the wires to do the change, you have to locate a shop with a PST2 or DuraMetric software to turn the light off for you. Disconnecting the battery DOESNT clear airbag lights.

Where are you located? if in So, Cal, you can goto Bisimoto Engineering in Chino Hills, they are very responible with there pricing unlike everywhere else.
