Hiya folks.. Have a 2006 CS2 and i have a question. I have had recurring probs with check engine light that was supposed to be taken care of. The last time in was for that and a 20K service. The mileage at that time was around 18500 or so. I started to get a service required in such and such mileage warnings after i got the car back. Now i am getting a constant check engine light again. Is it possible this light is simply a reminder that it needs its normal routine maintenance that i jut had done 1500 miles ago? Perhaps it just needs a reset? ANy thoughts?

The check engine light is too important to second guess. Better take it in immediately. If it turns out they just didn't reset the computer when you had the service interval done, well, express your displeasure at the inconvenience. Otherwise you might be driving around with some important safety related sensor completely out of commission.

With a Check Engine, it's most likely an emissions related sensor / issue. Check Engine should not illuminate to denote service intervals; that's a part of the PCM...

A solid Check Engine is OK to drive - as long as you're headed to the dealer / workshop.

A flashing Check Engine means that catalytic converter failure is imminent; the engine electronics cannot control the air/fuel mix with precision...

Get it checked out! I would think that the Check Engine light activation event is recorded in the ECU history stack (as a function of total engine run hours); showing up at the dealer tens of hours after the light activation could very well cause a "warranty failure" - that is, a failure of PCNA to honor your warranty!
