Head Unit Replacement To Aftermarket

Recommended Posts

You'll have to change out the factory amplifier too if you have the bose system. if you dont, you're good.

as for the new deck, you have more thane nough room for a double din Nav unit. ive done probably 15 or more since the beggining of 2007... email me for some picutres.

Sid,

If you have the Bose audio you will have to replace everything most likely. The Bose amp has a fiberoptic input and there are no converter boxes. The bose speakers are not designed to work with an aftermarket amp. Will they work with a 3rd paty amp? Yes, but not sure how long and there's a good chance your sound quality will go down significantly.

I own a Cayenne v6 03 mdl, with the basic porsche head unit (wout nav). im thinking of replacing it with an aftermarket head unit. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey JAudio-

Do you have any recommendations for a 2001 Boxster? I would like something with a double din screen and nav.

Check out my install on my S... it should give you some serious starting points.

I've yet to hear something more clean, clear and powerful than my setup without some big bulky subwoofer being somewhere.
