Buzzing noise coming from inside drivers side sill

Recommended Posts

Hello again i have tonight replaced all the plugs & replaced 2 of the coils which were split i still, have the same problem i have checked the alarm module & it is wet so going to have to sort the leak out & dry the carpet ..

I really dont think it is anything to do with that alarm module presonally ..

Just a bit strange this buzzing noise appeared out the blue under the trim on drivers side & wouldnt run properly after so I think im gonna strip the trim tommorow to see what was making that noise under the trim as something under there isnt wright...

Does anybody know whats located under the drivers side interior sill trim RHD uk car ??? is there any relays located there ???

Cheers for the help ...

Matt

Matt:

Read the replies by RFM and by Loren above, at posts #18 and #20.

RFM: The lever lock electro motor is located under the trim.

Loren: RFM is referring to the two solenoids that lock the front and rear latches when you lock the car.

I guess if one of these solenoids is bad it might make a buzzing sound.

When you get under there, perhaps you could post some photos of these solenoids.

Regards, Maurice.

Hello all just an update on the problem...

last night decided to see if the car would run so took it out for a quick spin decided to drive it untill it had warmed up & all of a sudden full power returned & car was running fine again ... Thank God for that !!!!!

Im putting that down to either dodgy fuel or me running fuel to low .. got of been something in the system somwhere..

Just glad i havent had a bill to pay out as im a bit short on money after xmas !!

Not to sure what that buzzing was though under the trim , going to look into that tonight or maybe weekend depending on the weather just to settle my mind..

To all the members who have helped me on this ..

Cheers much appreciated

Matt

Doesn't that say wet electronics like Stefan said which would explain everything?

Might want to clean the 4 drain holes in the rear for the top. Also, don't do what I did and park the car on a steep driveway with the front end uphill. In a deluge it caused the water to pool in the back and saturate all the foam back there. I now park with the nose downhill and haven't had a problem despite similar rains.
