Like most of the readers on the DIY forum, I'd like to understand the mechanical issues on my 2002 C2 so I can fix them myself or at least make them worse before sacrificing the car to a dealer or independent. Is there a service manual that includes the 2002 that you would recommend? Sources would be useful. My initial internet search shows some manuals but I don't know who is the most informative and they don't include recent years.

Paul, as you suggested, I went with manuals on CD provided by member porshelibrarian. They come at a great price and are just the level of detail that I was looking for.

I downloaded a 996 manual from a site called tradebit for $20. It is a huge file and takes a while to download but seems to be fairly complete.
