Hey all,

I took a look at the archives, but didn't see a specific answer to my question. I finally got an Ipod and would like to hard wire it to the stock Porsche radio. I have an early build 99 cab, but the radio was replaced under warranty. The front of the deck says it is a model 220, but doesn't offer any more info on the type of radio. Is it a Becker? If so, is there a aux-in part that is made for it?

I tried to bring it in to a local car stereo shop, but they didn't seem to know what they were doing so I left.

Thanks for your help

Chad.

The radio you're probably looking at is a Becker CDR-220. This may help: From the Becker Board at www.beckerautosound.com:

"All you need for the CDR220 or CDR23, is the Phone mute/Aux audio-in/Tel audio-in/Removal keys in one kit, part # 1319.116-276 ($16.40)

To order please call our parts department at (888) 423-3537 x1209..."

It refers to a wiring harness that converts the CD in jack to AUX-In, etc. Give them a call and let me know how it turns out!

you can just get an "itrip" that attaches tot he top of your ipod and it will play through any blank radio station from like 87.9 - ? wirelessly. Its about $30.00. It works fine; oyu will get other radio interferences, but it works fine for the most part, if your like in town most of the time. But if your driving to some other town/city you might find that the blank station is not a blank station in another town, so you would need to find a blank station in that town.
