Part Number for RMS and IMS ?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone please advise the part numbers for the latest versions of the rear main seal (I think the RMS is a green seal from the Cayenne?) and Intermediate Shaft seal for a MY2000 Boxster S (Engine code M96.21).

Need to do the clutch soon and may as well do them as well even though have never had a drop of oil !

Thanks in advance.

The housing and o-ring will depend on your engine number.

Most often the problem on the IMS leak is the 3 bolts that hold the housing and o-ring in place - these should be the newer self-encapsulated screws that seal them selves.

I had this done on my January 1997 2 weeks ago when my clutch was replaced. Since my car is so old I have the first version seal and intermediate shaft flange. The rear case bolts were also replaced. People have been calling them blue bolts because they have a blue sealant. Since you are updating the other stuff you might as well do the bolts when the transmission is out. You can see 2 of these bolts in the picture after the transmission was put back in.
