Any work done on the car (i.e. spark plugs)?

Did the car get wet (very wet)?

nope no work done. washed a car few days ago, but drove it since then and had no issues. I did instlall the softronics flash, but that was few weeks ago and had no issues untill now. could it be the softronics flash?

  • 3 months later...

Did you find the solution to this problem. I'm particularly interested because I have the exact same issue on my '97 C2S. The misfire codes for cylinders 2,3,5 & 6 have shown up repeatedly after each time I've cleared them...never 1 or 4.

I've been told it's either bad/dirty injectors or a bad Dual Mass Flywheel. I'm not eager to replace either if I don't have to, so I'd certainly like to hear if you figured out your problem.

Thanks

maybe cracked coils?

I checked those out on the scope and the coils are fine...plus I doubt two would have cracked at the same time.

The thing that strikes me as odd, is that it's the exact same cylinders misfiring as the ones listed by the other poster...it must either be the same problem or something in the way the OBDII system tracks the misfires that only reports those cylinders.

I had a similar issue with my 2005 base. After several dealer visits, new coils etc. I was still getting missfires. They generally occurred on start-up or idle (low rev activities). Then, finally, after taking apart the intake, the service tech noted the air filter was quite dirty and thus possibly restricting air flow. A new filter was added and 6 weeks later no misfires! Go figure.
