Auto Door Locking

Recommended Posts

Hi Loren,

I'm in Los Angeles and the dealer was L.A. Auto Gallery in Woodland Hills. I saw them hook-up the PST, but I think that they were programming the other auto lock function (when the key is removed from the ignition and the doors are closed)?

On a PST2 or PIWIS four versions can be selected under the 'Version coding' menu item.

Version 1

The doors are automatically locked as soon as the ignition is switched on.

Version 2

The doors are automatically locked if the vehicle exceeds a limit speed of 5 km/h.

Version 3

The doors are automatically locked as soon as the ignition is switched on. If the doors are opened while the engine is running, automatic re-locking takes place if the vehicle exceeds a limit speed of 5 km/h.

Version 4

The doors are not locked automatically.

I have never seen a car that the correct programming did not work.

I finally got the car back to the dealer (this time I took it to Rusnak/Westlake) to have the updated RMS installed and while I was there, they programmed version 2!

Thank you Loren.
