Installing/activating Cruise Control

Recommended Posts

I've read the threads on installing cruise control on a drive-by-wire boxster and got all excited. Now I noticed that there is no cruise control icon on my speedometer. I assume that it's only there to let yo know that the cruise is turned on, but without it, can I still install the 4 stalk switch and have it activated? It's a 2003 Boxster S, US Spec, 6 speed.

I am constantly amaized at how much information is on this website. Thanks to all of you who have contributed and posted.

You can install the stalk, however, the 'Cruise' function is enabled in two places, first the instrument cluster and secondly the DME, without both enabled you will not be able to use 'Cruise', the install is covered on here. The activation is carried out using either a PST2 or its' replacement the PIWIS, typically by a dealer.
