Spring Isolators?

I was looking an my springs while the car was on the rack this past week. I noticed the spring isolators don't function to level the spring tips against the pirches. The springs are already bent and sheered level against the pirches.

Is there any downside to removing the isolators?

Thanks in advance...

It's not broken, it's just an easy way to get a .75" drop while keeping stock ride charateristics

It's either item 9 or 11. There's also one on the bottom pirch not shown in that diagram.

I talked to my tech again today and he said he's seen it done, but the springs creek and are otherwise very noisey without the isolators, although an easy fix for that was to wrap the coil heads with electrical tape. He said he'll pull them off for me so I can try it and see if I'm comfortable with it.

I'll keep the you updated. Thanks Loren.
