Yes, they are the same. The difference is 6 speed vs. Tiptronic and country specific.

Thanks Loren

The reason I ask is that I am getting an electrical high pitched noisein y 06 997 that appears to be coming from the dashpod that kicks in around 90mph. Is is speed dependent as starts a little intermittent but then gets louder and constant the faster I go. It is like an electrical restistance noise. Could this be a faulty dashpod or have you come across anything similar

Cheers

Matt

Do you mean a static noise? or an electrical arcing noise. I have not heard of either - but it might be worth while to remove the cluster and see if there are connectors that are not seated or worn/pinched wires.

It is like a high pitched electrical whistle that gets louder. I seems to come straight out of the cluster in front of you. It starts intemittent and within an extra 10mph is very high pitched and loud. It seems like feedback maybe? This may also be my imagination but I only seem to get it when the weather is dry ?

How easy is it to remove the cluster Loren?

Thanks again

Matt

Are you sure that the noise sounds as an electrical whistle coming from the cluster? Some earlier 997 have a windshield which is not good sealed to the body with a high pitched noise ( wind is blowing through a small hole ) as result. Tape the front windshield complete around with masking tape and do a test drive before you remove the cluster.

Hi Thanks

Just around the whole rubber seal? or the top where it meets the roof edge or the bottom where it meets the plastic tray.

Thanks again

Just around the whole windscreen, from the painted body over the rubber gasket till the glass of the windscreen.

Taped the whole screen using detailing tape. No difference. The noise still kicks in. Thanks anyway

Regards

Matt
