Had a scary tire failure due to low pressure.

Thought I'd share a photo I took of one of my rear tires that failed on a freeway on the way home a couple weeks ago. I knew something didn't feel right but those wide 25 series tires are impossible to visually inspect, the outer sidewall looked flawless. We found this when we dismounted them to see why they wouldn't hold air.

Worse they were only a couple months old. There was a big nail hole in it.

Do yourself a favor check the tire pressure in all your vehicles today.

I left my office and got on a freeway and was cruising along for 5 min when it just felt wrong. I pulled over and everything looked ok (visually) so I got back in and as I took off I could tell something was very wrong. On closer inspection I saw it was flat so I tried to put some air in it with a small electric pump but it wouldn't take air.

It was the right rear.

I'm not sure if I got the nail on the freeway or if it was already flat when I left the office.
