Lug bolt source

Recommended Posts

Good day porschephiles!

I just got a second set of wheels powdercoated black and am now thinking about lug bolts. I am struggling with the idea that I may pay more for bolts than I paid for the powdercoating. And, If I want the bolts coated in black, too - well, then more $....

I see several options for bolts on EBay but wonder - and would tend to avoid the single piece variety - the aluminum washers are important, I'm pretty sure.

Any ideas? I've also thought about having the bolts powdercoated to match the speed yellow paint on the car, but wonder if that might be too much?

Got chrome plated lug nuts from GMP performance and they are exact reproductions of the OEM bolt. A 2 piece bolt that just doesn't corode up like OEM. They are expensive though. I'm happy with them. I just don't think powder coating would hold up to everyday use. I think Porsche might make black plastic bolt caps to hide th eugly lug bolts?

Chrome will eventually chip off and rust.

I got the 1-piece staineless ones on ebay instead.
